Luke Cage Hero for Hire 2 pg 20 by Tuska and Graham

Got this in from the last big Heritage auction.

I’ve been hunting for a page from this book (particularly one with Claire, in her first appearance) for some time! I was really happy to pick it up, and for less than I was prepared to go for it!

Got this one in today, my first DC piece. Really cool Alex Konat pencils from Batman/Superman annual 3, which I believe was instead printed in vol 6 Universe’s Finest. Page 35.

So as some know, IDW lost the GI Joe license to Kirkman but as IDW stated they are going out with a bang.  One of the projects that IDW is working on is a recreation / tribute comic of GI Joe 21 with former Joe artists each taking on a page.  Jay Sullivan was invited to participate in the project and Audrey Sullivan inked his page.  The deal included his original pencil and inked page on 16" x 24" Bristol with two redesigns of Scarlett's face that will later be digitally inserted.    I picked this up directly from the artist. 

I was really excited to acquire this... Snake Eyes... Storm Shadow... Scarlett...   This will be framed.  Ideas are welcomed by the way as the art goes to the edges of the page. 

IDW will release this anniversary issue later in the year. 

Special thanks to @jaybuck43 who gave me a slap over the phone and said, "Just get it".

The last 6 months or so have been great for my comic art collecting! In August, I collected a long term goal - a published, one-page Sugar and Spike story. 
In January, I accomplished a similarly long-term goal. I acquired the cover from issue 91 of Sugar and Spike. I never thought I'd get one; they just don't turn up.
When this one showed up on Heritage, I bid on it and won. The lot also included the color guide and the printer's proof. It's a nice grouping.
If you look at the additional images, you will see those plus the published cover and the cover to issue 24 where the idea was first used.
Hope it makes you smile. It certainly makes me smile.

P.S. Apologies to my kids; the inheritance has shrunk.

Picked this up from Paul Pelletier’s website.  As some of you can probably concur, good Alpha Flight art is hard to come by.  So this definitely caught my eye.
I’m a big Puck fan too, so that made this a must have!

I'm thrilled that this week I've added a new recreation by Chris Kohler to my collection.  If you're not familiar with Chris's recreations, you should be.  He does incredible work reproducing old comic art, and he'll do each piece only once.

When choosing a recreation for a commission, it's so hard to pick.  But my primary focus is SOTI and I love EC, so this one was an easy choice.  Plus, the cover to HOF 19 is a perfect companion to another piece I comissioned from Chris a while back: the splash to Foul Play from HOF 19.
