Are those few actually graded 9.8s but accidentally have 9.9 labels which are now being sold as 9.9s at huge premiums? I would not want to be the buyer of those. Used to be that 9.9's were extremely rare, and prices reflected that. But now they're starting to become a dime a dozen. Can't speak exactly for these, but I once saw a non-Wizard World CGC 9.5 labeled book that the census listed as 9.6. The correct grade based on CGC correspondence was the census grade. I've submitted over 2,000 books over the past 20 years, but never received a single 9.9 grade. I was honestly kind of hoping I would get lucky with a 9.9 of my Saga #1 that I sent in, because you know you're always hoping, especially when it seems possible.
