The Eternals is without a doubt the worst 1970's Marvel comic book concept (the 2001 non-adaptation is a close second) and Kirby just seemed to be pumping out the krap with reckless abandon. My friends and I stayed far away from anything Kirby on the stands, but there were tons of these books in the unsold mult-packs.

Here's another 1977 title that I picked up the odd issue of, but then dropped when the art started sucking - I wonder how many of these, like Nova, would have survived with good artists. 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

Also note that this is from the "cover up your navel" Ms Marvel era from around issues 8-9 or so.

This must not have worked too well, as Marvel soon started producing soft-porn covers of Ms Marvel is various states of ripped and shredded costumes, before finally settling on this "new look", which incidentally only bought the series a whopping 4 more issues.

Here's a very humorous cover when you think about it, especially in light of the direction Marvel recently went with the character.

King-Size Rawhide Kid?

"This time you bit off more than you can chew!"?

Even greggy wouldn't touch that one.. or would he? 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

Speaking of greggy, tell me that dark-haired, red-and-black striped shirt-wearing kid on the bottom-right isn't a spitting image of our favorite board member.

I bet he's wearing short-shorts too, and probably laughing with his "friend" over Dorothy's fashion faux pas of wearing red shoes with a pattern dress.

Great catch Cosmic, and here's another of those classic Double Dynamite ads, which really capture the flavor of the Bronze Age. Especially in this case, with two absolute classic BA comics: the first appearance of Dracula and Adam Warlock getting his own book.

And here you thought that Bruce Banner's "stretchy pants" were at tad illogical:

Here is another wild Marvel horror ad that slipped under the radar - just check out the byline: "The Zombie vs. The Voodoo Legions of Mr. Six!!".

The Voodoo Legions of Mr. Six? Heck, that's worth 75-cents to me right there. thumbsup2.gif
