I am sure there will be quite a run up in the next few days, but why those two don't have a reserve seems kind of silly. I predict one of them goes off for a steal. Especially the 5 why not wait until there is an official announcement for a reboot of FF. Seems like the wrong time to be selling a rare copy IMO

just back from CGC today, thought for sure it was a 3.0 thats what I bought it as.

Thanks to the board member who was willing to let it go.

Nice book! If you thought it was a 3.0, what am I missing seeing? I think it looks better than a 4.0 from that pic. It looks nicer than my copy (also a 4.0).

FF 5 is one of only a couple of restored books that I own....I got an 8.0 with very little work for about the price of a 6.5....it's one of my favorite books. It's still in the slab but I'm probably gonna cave and pop it one day. GOD BLESS....

Thanks to Boardies (Columbia Comics and jimjum12 respectively) for these two which arrived today - they fit right in with my run, both being mid-grade beauties with off-white-to-white paper.

And oh, I picked this up from roulette44 last week - shows a little bit of aging on the inside, but nice colors and pages, and I think it presents really well for the grade.

Very nice copy, Steve. What grade would you assign it?

Nice one Steve :applause:

I think this is the most overlooked early FF book of all (for good reason though).

It's actually not a bad issue, story is OK, the art is classic Kirby, but it's just that the other "early" issues of the FF run are so GOOD, that this issue pales a little when compared to them. (thumbs u

It's also an issue I picked up at school (a copy without a back cover) from another kid (in school), and was happy to have a copy because this issue was a little hard to find where i lived back in 1964 (the year i got my first copy).

So I hold this issue (especially presentable copies), with a little higher regard.

Nice Steve...keep it up. :cloud9:

Thnx guys - I have FF 6 and FF 10 also from prior transactions, so it's cool to have the FF mini run of 6-10 together.

Nothing special in the overall big SA picture I know, but I still enjoy them a lot.

Steve, I would grade it as "nice enough for me". :)

And Kirby inked the cover himself.

So what is your goal, Bill? Are you trying to put together the entire run 1-100? How many do you have so far?

Hi Steve :hi:

Whoops! Yep, I got my GA guys mixed up for a second. Thanks for correcting me, Tom (I know that's right!).

Sorry about that, Steve. :tonofbricks:
