I just noticed that next week's Heritage weekly auction will have low grade copies of the following early issues in the title: #6, #23, #24, #33, #34, #36 and #38.

Many of these are rarely available, so it will be a nice opportunity for folks who are trying to get them.

Golden Age (1938-1955):Adventure, New Adventure Comics #24 (DC, 1938) Condition: Apparent GD...Golden Age (1938-1955):Adventure, Adventure Comics #33 (DC, 1938) Condition: Apparent GD/VG....Golden Age (1938-1955):Adventure, Adventure Comics #34 (DC, 1939) Condition: Apparent GD/VG....Golden Age (1938-1955):Adventure, Adventure Comics #36 (DC, 1939) Condition: Apparent FR/GD....

These will be great to buy and strip for parts.

I'll shoot my shot on one or two. Luckily I already have a 24. Such a cool cover.

This is a very cool adventure cover from Flessel, but I get tripped up by the way the birch leaves over the Native American's head were drawn and colored.  It makes it looks like he is wearing a fancy flower hat and I have not been able to unsee it.

This is why I can't have nice things.

Thanks for the tip RHG! I'm definitely interested and will be ready to bid if the prices are anywhere near reasonable. Hopefully the fact that they all have restoration will help keep it reasonable! Fingers crossed...

Well, hope your fingers are still crossed although I am not sure if you would consider these prices to be reasonable since the ones scheduled to closed later today are already sitting in the high $2K's and low $3K's even before the bell rings for the final bidding.  :whatthe:

Definitely looks like some very strong aggressive bidding on these still in raw and restored condition books here, which would normally be a double killer for most books, but clearly not the case for these stunning HTF pre-hero DC books.  :applause:

Buttock called it...already not reasonable to me at current prices, let alone at what they may ultimately sell for at close.

Not sure how to wrap my head around those closing prices.

Evidently, you weren't sufficiently liquored up.

The big winners in today's auction were Adventures #33 and #38.  Although they are both restored, they went for, respectively, 9x and 11x unrestored Guide prices.  What the . . .??  :whatthe: :whatthe:

Do they have the same back covers at Action 7 and Detective 27?

No, the real big big winners in today's auction for these books were either long time holders of these "under the radar" books or the astute buyers who were on the ball and picked up unrestored copies of these same types of books at a much more reasonable multiple of only 2X guide back only about 5 short years ago.  (thumbsu

Perfect case in point being a CGC 3.0 graded Universal copy of today's big dollar winner (i.e. Adventure 33 at $5,040 :whatthe:) for only $836.50:  :takeit:

Golden Age (1938-1955):Adventure, Adventure Comics #33 (DC, 1938) CGC GD/VG 3.0 Off-white pages....

Or a raw apparent VG/F copy of today's big multiple winner (i.e. Adventure 38 in raw Apparent Good condition at $4,320 :whatthe:) for only $1,434:  :takeit:

So it's all about the back covers here and not so much about the classic Flessel front cover images.  (:

Well, how utterly devious and definitely food for thought here.  hm

Then again, this doesn't explain why the New Comics 6 scheduled to end tomorrow is still sitting there at only about 40% to condition guide, even though it has the same back cover as Detective Comics 1:  (shrug)
