I have one in similar shape, so it will be interesting to see how it does. Poor man's Double Action 2, but does not come up for sale very often at all. This one was graded by the warlocks across the street, so wasn't part of the census.

Maybe really NOT that crazy considering the other New Adventure and Adventure Comics in a very recent February Sunday Auction sold for something like double digit condition guide value.

it's already at 6x condition Guide with 4 days to go.

Like @Crowzilla had already alluded to with respect to the other Adventures back in February, maybe we really need to check out the back cover of this Adventure 37 to see if this one will go into double digit condition guide value or not.

isn't $4920 "only" about 3.5x guide?

I believe this book has the same BC as Tec 26 and Action 11, but it has always had strong demand due to it's great cover (and maybe the Double Action overlap?).

It really is a great cover.  Will be fun to see where it ends.

Agree, but doubt it ends up hurting the final price.

I must have been looking at a crystal ball when I made my statement.  It ended at 6x condition Guide ($7800).

That was a bit lower than I expected, but still respectable.

Maybe it would have gone for higher multiples to condition guide if it had been raw like the other Adventures & New Adventures back in February.  

Then again, those copies were in much lower condition raw grades, so much easier to hit higher and even double digit multiples to condition guide.

Ran across a simple but obscure piece of very early comic book history. As near as I can tell, this is circa 1935-1936. DC's predecessor to most all the books posted in this thread. Looks like the news dealer was supposed to report his sales and returns for the March-April issue of this book. Never sent back...

Anybody know which issue this could be from?

New Comics #3 (Feb 1936) ...... which was followed by  New Comics #4 (Mar-Apr 1936).

It will always boggle my mind that books like this can get 0.5 while an otherwise perfect and complete coverless book does not.

Interesting notations on that one, and the worst issues I have seen on a Cosmic Aeroplane.  I wonder if they harvested some pages for art instruction?  Hopefully the back cover ad is intact, as I like it better than the cover!
