Hi all,

I posted this in the Bronze Age section, but I suppose it's better posted here. This my latest acquisition... another fine Starlin example from his prime period. Strange Tales #178 (Starlin's first work on Warlock)... Warlock vs. Borgia... in all-out action. Pretty cool!

Enjoy!

I also recently got a vintage Marvelman (Miracleman) page from Alan Davis's early run on the series. A terrific page with the first meeting between Miracleman and Big Ben. I posted it in the Modern Age section, but I'll post it here as well. It's one of my most memorable scenes from the run.

That's all for now!

Well, I was looking for some original BA Horror art on ebay and came upon this action. It took me a bit to actually discern 100% what this was. I don't get WHY this is in Original Art on ebay.

The seller is selling a ton of art right now, so he probably just included it via momentum. Of course, there's always a lot of [#@$%!!!] in the Original Art categories. Lots of prints, posters, etc.

I don;t think so. Seller actually says "It is IMPOSSIBLE to own the original cover art from this issue (Unless you have an extra 50,000 or so to spend), so here is the next best thing, an original cover, beautifully matted and readt (sic) to hang on the wall. Good Luck."

I think it is apparant momentum is not at play here. It sounds like seller thinks if you matte something it becomes "art".

I looked a little closer at his listings (I just recongized the seller from a few art searches I run) and yes, beyond the actual art he's got he's listing a bunch of prints, etc. in the original art categories, so momentum didn't come into play. Just more [#@$%!!!] frown.gif

That's true! There's nothing like owning a piece of original art from a book or artist that you love. All you guys who are trying to find 9.9 or 9.8 comics because it's the best copy out there should just switch to collecting original art! You'll always have the best copy out there smile.gif And, for the price some of you guys are paying for modern, bronze and copper comics, just because they are "extremely high grade", you can get some REALLY nice art!

Just my three cents smile.gif

Ares,

Awesome peice. 893applaud-thumb.gif If you don't mind can I ask what a purchase like that can set you back? Also, is the page the same dimensions as a comic book page or bigger? I think I'm going to look into buying my first piece so I can hang it on my wall. thumbsup2.gif

This Perez Art cost me $187.50

Other Art I bought cost me less

Okay I'm sold. I take it Heritage is the best place to get these?

Newer art (past five years or so)- eBay and dealer sites (Search here: http://www.comicartfans.com/ForSaleSearch.asp)

Heritage sells some more recent art, but they're not specialists in it.

Vintage art- the above still apply, but add Heritage to the list.
