By buying the book and checking out the back when it arrives.
Which is why I don't bid on their auctions.
Can't stand getting a book and finding the back cover looks like fermented a-hole........or that the staples are an inch to the right of the actual spine on it.

would you believe me if I told you the letter CGC sent to the owner asked that they send it back within 14 days of the receipt of the item
true story, I would have to.d them to pound sand, I’m keeping the book as is
If that seriously is a true story......I would have instantly told them to **** off.
Seriously.....the ego being displayed because they think they can't be knocked off of their high horse.

They need to add a few......BIF!.......BAM!......POW!......logos around it.
It's what all the cool news stories use to let you know they're hip to the comic book scene.

It's almost as if they were bought by some huge alternative investment management company which only cares about their bottom line......and doesn't give two rat farts about their customers or quality control.
Almost.

Welp, looks like no one bit for $10k...so back to ebay for a starting bid of $800. He probably should have taken the $200...
"The winning bidder will receive the sealed DC comics multipack including Aquaman #2"
I wonder if the previous winning bidder would agree with this line of crapola.

If they don't know they missed it they can't improve, but likely it wouldn't be fixed , this time at least, without messaging somehow.
How many times have we read about credits not being applied properly in here over the years?
How many complaints about the same issue do they need to hear before they "improve"?

In my opinion, slack no longer needs to be cut.
CGC has had over two decades to get their sh*t together.
Not to mention the fact that it's 2023. Their system should be smart enough to automatically apply any credit to new balances owed.

Well you have gained a following of button humpers.
The trolls and button humpers will be ignored as Roy gets further moderation.

I'm not even sure how to check anymore.......but has anyone else in here broken the 100,000 post count barrier yet?

Recognizing bias is a skill everyone would do better to learn. Read up on confirmation bias.
I googled the hell out of confirmation bias and read the snot out it.
Now I know why those people choose to ignore all the evidence in this thread.
Thanks ! ! !

Crescent shaped indentations right thru the front, the poster and the back of the sleeve. Where is the quality control? The moment I removed the poster from the poly back the damage was staring me right in the face. Impossible to miss. That is 3 ME's in a row!
UPDATE: Just received my 2nd shipment now. No damage to the box. The poster sleeve literally looks like it melted. Totally warped!! Number 4 ME in a row! I need to speak to a supervisor!
But......but......this can't be possible.
Some in here insist that things like this are rare.

Wasn't me. I just found the eBay listing and shared it. Him implying my motivation was due to missing out on "a deal" is purely some sort of fabricated excuse. I wouldn't even pay $20 for both books.
Got it. He just assumed and you didn't correct him. Perfect.

Should it even matter, since the seller admitted what he did?
As ExNihilo pointed out......for a public shaming or to warn others in this (EBAY: BLOCKED USER LIST) thread......it doesn't matter if the offending party is a board member.
However, to be considered for the forum Probation List or Hall of Shame, the current rules state the transaction must be between two board members.

If you were the winner of his Ebay listing for that book.....which he then backed out of......you can now nominate him for the Probation List here on the forums if you wish.
For nomination purposes, as long as the deal in question was between two board members, it doesn't matter where the transaction (or failed transaction) took place.

If you want a friend, get a dog.
If you want an accurately graded book at a fair price- see Bob Storms.
He talked to Bob Storms at Heroes Comic Con (video queued up below).....and apparently Bob could tell immediately.
Also....where is this guys video for dealers letting them know that customers aren't their friends?
At the 13:17 mark in this same video.....he pulls a Saga #1 in CGC 9.8 and says it's a $500 book all day long.
The dealer has it priced at $350. So, what does he do? He offers the dealer even less ($300), and ends up buying it for that.

Clink auction shill bidding?
in Comics General
Posted · Edited by Domo Arigato
That's great if it's just a couple of big books I might be interested in.
But way too much work if I'm just skimming auctions and looking at numerous books I might be interested in.
If they can't be arsed to provide back cover scans for auctions that bring in hundreds of thousands of dollars......then I can't be arsed to bid on their auctions. Just my personal preference.
