Here are his first two messages to me:
"Small problem? What the heck? Are you frigging serious right now?"
"Handle it now or you won’t like the feedback I leave on this unprofessional transaction"
Threatening negative feedback like this is typically not allowed by Ebay.
I believe they view it as "feedback extortion" and will usually remove the negative feedback if you report it to them and show them the threat.

Saw that @Artboy99 posted this video in a different thread in here.
I went to YouTube to look at the comment section for it.....and spotted this one.....along with a reply from the guy who posted the video.

What came back did not have the X-Men label as it did previously, and the grade dropped to a 9.6!!! That would be the first time they ever re-graded a book for a mucked up label. I know, as I have been using the ME option consistently for the last 2 years. And I have received back 9.8s in a lower grade than when I sent them in (ie manhandled), but they were never graded as such. When I called CGC about this, they said they would hunt it down and find out what happened, and for me to send it back. 3 months later, it came back with the X-Men label, and still a 9.6. No explanation as to why the grade dropped. It's like they forgot or hoped I'd forget, and just got it relabeled and sent back with no fix.
Checking the cert number shows it was graded Jan 4th, 2023. I sent the book in on Jan 10th, so their date is wrong. I can track GPA sales of this 9.8 back to August of last year. So it has been a 9.8 before until this muck up
The fact you stated you've "been using the ME option consistently for the last 2 years" is a sad commentary on the state of affairs at CGC.
And let me see if I can follow the trail on what all this book has been though. Please correct me if I have any of this wrong.
- CGC originally gave the book a 9.8 with the correct X-Men custom label, but the incorrect book information.
- You submitted the book as an ME.....it came back with a lower 9.6 grade and without the X-Men custom label, but with the correct book information.
- The book was then resubmitted a second time as an ME......and came back with the X-Men custom label, but still had the lower 9.6 grade
- It was then resubmitted a third time as an ME......and finally has the correct 9.8 grade on it, but now the X-Men custom label is missing again.
- You've decided to just live with their mistake, since they can't seem to get it right and you don't want to submit it for it's fourth ME.
WTF?
I mean, seriously.....what the actual f***?

I forget where, but I thought at one point transactions that occurred outside the boards still qualified for the PL, but I can't seem to find that verbiage in the PL Discussion Thread.
It's listed here in the rules section.
Specifically.....Rule #1......Section D.

Isn't the PL just for buyers and sellers?
No.
The Probation List applies to transactions between board members........and it applies to transactions that occured on or off of the boards.
Here is the thread containing the rules for the Hall of Shame and Probation List.

I just hope he didn't damage the book initially or now that he has to send it back.
If he's just trying to scam a partial refund, then he wouldn't damage the book and would just rely on lying to get what he wants. If he decides to return it, however, he would probably detach the centerfold on the bottom staple to support his lie and punish you for not giving him what he wants.
You said....."He is also leaving negative feedback stating I will not disclose in the future".
Did he say this to you in one of his messages before he left the feedback? If so....eBay consider this feedback extortion, and they will remove the negative for you when he leaves one.
If selling on eBay, I would add a bold note to the listing stating that no partial refunds will be given......and only a full refund will be issued upon the return of the item.

A similar thing happened to me back in October 2022. While the book was at CGC, the corner was torn off then reattached with tape on the inside of the cover. I didn't have a pic/scan of the book before I submitted so CGC wouldn't do anything.
CGC basically said, "If you don't have proof, we didn't do nothing wrong.".
It wasn't a major book so I let it go.
After seeing your taped book......and the way the ripped corner piece on that Transformers #67 is aligned back into (almost) its proper position......it make me wonder if it also wasn't taped back on after grading, but before the book went through the encapsulation process.

Perhaps the book got wedged in the corner (I had this happen to a book I sold and shipped), and then something jostled it free but the corner was stuck, so the whole piece ripped away. It being stuck would explain the damage we see to the back edge in the original post.
Then that would raise another question.
If the corner piece was wedged so strongly that the rest of the book was torn away from it......then why isn't that small corner piece still stuck in the seam?
And why is that torn corner piece now aligned back up almost perfectly with the rest of the book?

I'm trying to figure out what the hell is going on with this book.
That upper right corner looks like it was completely torn free from the book.....as the art work from the corner piece no longer lines up with the rest of the cover.
But, then......how did it get put back almost perfectly in place?
And why does that edge of the book look like it was sonically welded into the inner well at some point.....but no longer is?
I mean.....just......
P.S.

Not sure were this Action Comics #61 notation error originated (Overstreet?).....but it's not correct.
Superman is not fighting atomic radiation on the cover. He's fighting an oil well fire. How do you tell?:
- The four huge oil drilling rigs in the background.
- The massive fire and black smoke shooting out of the hole in the ground (why would atomic radiation cause fire and smoke to shoot out of the ground?).
- The men are not wearing radiation suits. They are suits used for fighting oil well fires to protect them from the flames and intense heat (Link to fire fighting equipment....see an image of a similar suit below from that linked page).
- You can see the exact same type of oil drilling rigs (and fire) in the picture at the bottom of this post.
- The comic is from 1943...well before the first detonation of a nuclear device, and before the general public was even aware of them.
Edit: For those thinking this sounds familiar.....I discussed the same topic in this thread two years ago.

I have a book from 1981, a promotional booklet from Leaf and DC comics. The interior is 8 miniature comics you obtained from Candy packs.
My question is if CGC would grade this?
Interesting item that I've never seen.
Does raise the question though on how they would grade it if they did. Would they just grade the holder and ignore the miniature books........or grade as a combination of the holder with the eight inserted books (which would mean having to average several grades)?
I know I have some similar mini comics.....but, I believe they came with a stick of gum similar to what you used to get in packs of trading cards.

I just checked, and the old ones were listed as being 42 mil thick...while the new ones say they are 35 pt thickness.
A pt and a mil each represent 1/1000th of an inch.....so they are definitely making them thinner.
You mentioned they had brown backs last year. Have they changed it back to making both sides white? Their website still mentions them as having "one side white".

By your logic then most of my books I receive back from CGC would have problems then correct?
I do keep track as a dealer, and inspect each book the best I can before re-sell or my personal collection.
2023 so far close to about 600 books received back from CGC:
8 cracked slabs (5 from one box that was dropped by FedEx, box was heavily torn)
1 Mislabel (QC error)
Handful or so with minor scratches which is no different than any other year since I have been submitting (cira 2003). Generally the small scratches dont take away from the book, nor would CGC probably re-slab it for free.
I don't submit GA, so everything from SA-current I have not seen honestly a really bad example of Newton Rings. However full disclosure, unless it is a really bad example of Newton Rings they don't bother me. Though I do understand why it does others.
IMO for that total number of submissions so far for me this year that is a perfectly acceptable rate of incurred damage/error variance from CGC, same with me cracking out slabs for resubmitting when I think CGC was a little too tight on the grading.
My livelihood does depend on them, and so far I have lived a pretty stress-free adult life. I mean all I do is transfer a comic book from one person's box to another at premium.
I am more worried about Disney, and their terrible management of Star Wars and the MCU bringing down the values of comics more than Newton Rings. Everyone's problems here are generally valid, and CGC should take care of them. However, to think that the QC problems of what people post here represent most of what CGC ships out to their customers is not a fair or accurate statement.
It is true.
This thread is living proof of it.
I never said most books people submit are coming back with problems. I'm saying far too many people are having issues with their submissions. There's a huge difference between those two statements.
Way too many people in this thread have had to send books back because of problems that often border on the stupid (with many of the "mistakes" jumping over stupid with both feet). Some of these people have even received their corrected books back.....and then had to send some of them back in for additional problems. And that's not even counting all the examples in here where the books have literally been damaged.
This thread was started at the end of 2014 and currently has 256 pages on my settings.
The end of 2014 to late 2020 is contained within the first 21 pages of this thread (6 years in 21 pages)
The other 235 pages of this thread cover from October of 2020 to the present (2 years and 7 months). 235 pages. You can take a s**t in your hand and call it a rose if you want.....but I'm not going to smell it.
CGC is your bread and butter and I get that you want to defend them. You seem to do very well with them.....but many others don't.

I'm not acting like everything CGC mails to the customer has a problem.
I'm acting like too much of what CGC mails to their customers has a problem......because it does. Where have you been?
And I know full well that some peoples livelihoods depend on submitting books to CGC......which is precisely why I said it floors me that people aware of this thread continue to submit if their livelihood doesn't depend on it.

The thing that blows my mind......the number of people in here that are aware of this thread and still continue to submit if their livelihood doesn't depend on it.
I've got some very high grade books I bought raw years ago that I would very much like to have CGC graded for my personal collection.
But with the current level of service over the last few years, I'd rather drink battery acid and then urinate on an electric fence before sending them in for grading.

Maybe @Domo Arigato could share some of the latest emails
I assume he’s still a subscriber
Sure thing.
I posted the last email exchange (one message each) in this thread on July 12th of last year. His email back then can be seen here.....and my reply can be seen here.
I didn't hear back from him after that......so I reached out to him again in September of last year to address another issue. Here's how that went.
My message to him:
Dylan,
Why are you stating that you are an Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide Advisor? That is not true. You used to be an advisor for them, but no longer are. In your Ebay auctions, you mention your market report in the 50th edition.....but that was two years ago. Your claim that you ARE an advisor is deceptive. His reply:Lori,
To answer your question: Overstreet never notified me saying I'm not! I have no reason to suggest otherwise in that we've sold millions of dollars of comic books. In fact all other advisors have made mistakes in their journeys as well and here we are. Isn't making mistakes and learning a part of the process?A few of the mistakes we've made are:-Not having someone on my team check if CGC messed up ie Character Labels before getting listed (pulled promptly, canceled all orders)-Having our team grade comics remotely (changed that long ago, refined grading standards to tight letter grades as good as Blissard)-Struggling to let ex-friends like Polonsky go even if they're making a mean/unfair decision (I have better things to do these days and more than enough choices to who I can surround myself with) Have you ever struggled with letting an old friend that just changed overnight go forever? I have multiple times. It's painful but I live and learn. I've found that sometimes you just gotta let go like I should have sooner with Polonsky, it seems like this thread is having the same issue. It's often easier to criticize others but when we look within we all have our own things to work on as much as nobody wants to admit itBy the way, I asked you this question on July 8th 2022 via email but unfortunately did not receive a response:"Lori, how many people on these boards who comment about anything related to our company have had an in-person, telephone or video conversation with me or a member of our team in the past 2 years?"I would love to continue our relationship but if it's not gonna be a 2-way street it's not gonna work between usWhatever happens I wish you all the best and a fantastic year!Respectfully yours,-DylanMy reply to him:Dylan,If you are no longer listed as an Overstreet Advisor in the current issues...then you are no longer an Overstreet Advisor. That isn't a mistake, that's deliberate deception. And Polasnky wasn't mean or unfair to you. You were acting like a colossal and unhinged d-bag, so he cut off communication with you. You then tried to force him to communicate with you, and that showed everyone the type of person you are and why you are now an outcast on the forums. And I did respond to the question you sent on July 8th, 2022, which you failed to respond to. I asked why you failed to answer my question and instead chose to just ask me a question in your reply. Here it is again:You failed to answer my last question, so people are probably convinced you are hiding something and wouldn't be truthful.WHAT ARE YOU HIDING AND WHY WON'T YOU TELL US HOW MANY COSPLAY GIRLS HAVE CONTACTED YOU WANTING YOUR COURSE FOR FREE IN EXCHANGE FOR SEX WITH YOU?Wishing your well with a genuine hope that you do better, Dylan.
Sincerly yours,EarthHe replied to me a day later with the following, but did not address my last email to him. Instead, he addressed something that was being talked about on the boards (we were discussing the incorrect BBB rating he had listed on either his website or his Ebay listings). I didn't reply to it, so this was the last communication between us.We apologize that it says BBB rating of A+ instead of the accurate: A. We are changing it right now.
