  1. It will be interesting to see how this plays out for them. I understand that they might be peeved that some of their titles are seeing significant drops on a monthly basis, but I would expect that this is due more to a lack of interest from LCS clients than anything. It is great that a comic is receiving critical acclaim from reviewers, but unless it translates into cold hard cash from a lot readers it does not matter. If I am an LCS owner, the only titles I would over order now on spec are the tier 1 titles that will always have demand from Marvel and DC (e.g. Batman, JLA, GL, Supes, X-Men, Avengers, Spider-Man). Not going into reprints could kill Image titles that are not immediate successes and take time to build up a following. On the other hand, it should help speculators make more on hot books as the only game in town will be lower order 1st prints.
  2. I was thinking the same thing. I have Cap 6 on my "find" list for when I dig through long boxes, but every time I find one, I'm not sure it is the right one as the prices on eBay are rather bleak compared to other "hot" movie books. Those are the right ones, although the version with Bucky/Winter Soldier on the cover is the variant edition. Cap #14 still sells a bit higher than these issues based on the cover, but I expect #6 to pass it. Also, just looking at GPA, I see the last sale for a 9.8 Variant #6 was for $150.00, so it's moving upward. After reading your posts I decided to snag a couple online. Lonestar had copies of the Winter Soldier variant and regular editions on the site. I put the two Winter Soldier variants in my cart first, and when I went to snag the regular #1 someone else had picked it up. Which one of you boardies did that?
  3. So, if Image follows through with the no further reprints policy, does that mean there should be healthy gains for second and later printings of Saga issues as well?
  4. Interesting. That is a relatively low print run. What was it for the Batgirl and Catwoman 2nd prints?
  5. Not sure about the print run, but I snagged as many as could find online in the $5 - $6 range a couple of months ago (a whopping 4 ) as it was going for ~$20 on eBay back then. Check out the prices on the 6th printing as well - it is an above cover book. I guess any change other than just color = bigger $$$? Then again, Batman #608 and #612 2nd prints go for significantly more than the 1st prints so we should not be surprised........
  6. I would hang onto them. Look at it like this : If you keep your runs of each to just the first 5 issues, how much do you really have invested in them ?...$10-20 bucks ?...I would keep the Tec, Batman and maybe the first issue of Nightwing, Batgirl, etc..... I am keeping the 2 or so complete runs of each., but have also lucked into a nice stack of multiples from a LCS recently. I am thinking of starting to move them to cover some of the cost of the runs. (thumbs u To be honest, I can't believe how much some of the books are going for right now. Look at Batman #8 for example - it has sales as high as $12.99 right now. I have 8 or so copies on hand and can get more if needed.
  7. Is now a good time to start moving all of my spare Batman, Tec, Nightwing and other New 52 issues, or is it better to hold on to the majority for a while longer?
  8. We have a LCS that is selling all of the Marvel Now #1 Phantom Variants for $4 apiece. I have snagged a few each of Deadman, Cap and Hulk - is the FF #1 variant worth it as well?
  9. Accurate grading, fast shipping, friendly communication. Great boardie to deal with. (thumbs u
  10. Fast payment, good communication, all around great boardie to deal with. Thanks, Jeremy. (thumbs u
  11. Here is a new addition to my collection. First copy of JLA #1 I have owned in the past 5 or so years. This one will likely be a keeper for a while until I upgrade:
  12. I would have figured that it belonged to one of you OW-W or W only hoarders here in this thread......
  13. Does this copy up in the Sunday Night Heritage Auction this week belong to one of you? http://comics.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleNo=121247&lotNo=14422
  14. I think it`s relatively easy, actually. I think B&B 29 & 30, Showcase 8, 13, 14, 17 & 22 are harder. +1. B&B 28 is relatively easy in higher grade compared to these books.
  15. The other night I placed an order for a few Phantom variants with Mile High at $10 apiece as listed on their site. They only gave me one, and are now listing them at $15 on the website.
  16. Glad I landed my 9.4 Bats #222 as a raw copy. I have never been a huge fan of that issue, but it is great to buy low and flip high!
  17. It is interesting to note that the one store that I went to yesterday that still had copies of Batman #13 at $19.99 was only asking cover for the combo pack (only 1 copy left). They said their other location across the city still had more. Does anyone have numbers on how many copies of that version were printed relative to the die-cut one? Also, has anyone seen a newsstand copy of #13 out yet?
  18. Headed straight to the LCS that had about 20 Batman #13s for cover price on Sunday (snagged a couple then, thankfully) right after work today hoping they were still clueless. Unfortunately for me, they had their remaining copies marked at $19.99 already. You snooze you loose, I guess. However, they did have one combo pack still at cover, and I decided to bend and pick up the Variant cover for $30 to mark up at $50 for the local 2-day show this weekend. It sounds like Catwoman will be underordered a bit locally as well. While I was mulling over the variant the two workers at the store I was at were muttering about the co-worker (not present) who does the ordering and complaining that he only ordered a couple of extra copies above their file customers' pull lists.
  19. Also, will there be newsstand copies of the Batbooks?
  20. Will the new Batgirl storyline float the boat for the Killing Joke as well?
  21. Looks like I will have to go by the one LCS that still had some Batman #13 die cuts and combo packs still on the shelf and snap them up tomorrow.
  22. I was thinking of bidding on some of the other books but figured they would go higher. Too bad, as it looks like there were some deals on Adams Bats today, as well as a lot of other books. FWIW, I think some of the books would have done better on eBay based on my results from the past few months.....
