  2. Hi, thanks for your message. The plastic part you're seeing is known as a wedge. Every book that the encapsulation department receives is evaluated to determine how to encapsulate it in the safest way for that particular book. This includes what size well and holder to use, and if the book is manufactured with an odd cut that doesn't fit on its own in our inner holder, it will also include the use of wedging. Wedges are very common practice with CGC. They are not harmful to the book, and are used to secure the book in the well to eliminate any sort of movement and therefore make the book more secure.   3. Hi, thanks for your message. You will enter each book on your order individually and choose the services you want for each book. The system will then group all the like services and tier together into specific invoices. So you will enter and choose for each book individually unless you are entering multiples of the same exact book. In that case, you would change the "quantity" to whatever the number was for that book type and then the service you choose would be for that grouping. But that is done only for exactly the same book. If you have all different books then you will enter them all seperately. If you have any other questions, please let us know. Thanks!

  8. Good morning, Thanks for your message. If you would like to provide your submission number, we can check the status of your orders. The turnaround times will, of course, vary depending on the services you chose as well as the tiers. All turnaround times are approximate and estimates and there is no guarantee that a particular book will be completed exactly by the turnaround time listed. Some books do require additional time with the graders or in pressing, etc. and will take longer to be completed as a result. While we would love to be able to contact each customer if their book is going to extend past the estimated turnaround time, this is just not feasible due to the thousands of submissions we receive each week. The only way for a book to get a signature series label would be for the signature to be witnessed by an authorized CGC witness.   13. Good morning, thanks for your message! Generally, it will take at least a few days if not a bit longer for your invoice to show in the system. This is due to the very high volume of mail we receive each day. If your tracking shows the package has been delivered then we do have it at our office and it is just a matter of opening and entering that into our system. You will receive an email once that has been entered but you might not see that for a week or so after it has been delivered. Thanks!
  14. Hi, thanks for your message! Unfortunately, we can't advise you on the value of your books. The amount that you list for your declared value is up to you and would be whatever amount you feel comfortable with for insurance coverage while the note is here with us in the office. If you are unsure about an amount we do recommend starting out more conservatively with the value to avoid paying any more than you have to as our graders can always bump that up to a higher grading tier if they feel the book is significantly undervalued. However, if you overvalue the book, you would not be refunded any money back on your grading fees. If you have any other questions, please let us know. Thanks!

For books where the signatures were not witnessed by an authorized CGC witness, it will get the qualified label and it would not list specific names on the label. It would just state something like "names in marker on cover" or something to that effect. It is up to you, in this case, if you want to crack it out or not as it would still receive a qualified label either way. However, it might be a little more protected if you were to send it in the current holder. But that is entirely up to you. If you have any other questions, please let us know. Thank you!

  23. Hi, you won't see your membership credits on the online form since that is not a live system. But your credit is linked to your account here with us so once we receive your order, the credit will be deducted first and you would only be charged the difference. Thanks!
  24. Good morning. It looks like the reason they could not grade this book was that there were pages detached. We won't grade and encapsulate something that has detached pages that can move around within the holder. Your grading fee for this one will be credited back to you. When you get your book there will also be a sticker on there stating the specific reason why the book was not able to be graded. Thanks!
