  1. I think the more important question is whether your presser is using a hot press or cold press. Hot pressing at 250 Fahrenheit or whatever temperature they set their machine at may turn your comic paper toasty in the long run but it seems like collectors don't really care if they plan to flip said comic(s) within 6 months.
  2. Just saw Art Suydam at Puyallup's WA State Summer con. He must travel to shows non-stop:
  3. Lots of comics writers, artists, inkers, and painters. Did not have time to walk around amateur press area, as busy digging through boxes:
  4. Spawn #45 death of Tiffany sighted at $25-30 range. Overall, too many long boxes of $1 and $2 comics in Puyallup con but some vendors offered solid SA Marvel runs at reasonable prices too:
  5. Some of the scarce posters for sale at the Steranko booths:
  6. More affordable Cgc 0.5 SA key booth also had a fresh collection of Ditko Charltons in nice shape plus some LB Cole romance cover issues at reasonable prices. I believe ASM #1 0.5 had decent front cover appeal but missing back cover:
  7. One dealer who usually just sells $400 and less vintage back issues brought out his big guns at aggressive prices for this 2nd(?) annual WA Summer con:
  8. 'I Love Comics' from Vancouver, WA had Naomi #1 1st prints at $200, Batman Beyond #1 $200 and some 1st app. manga movie female character comic at raw $200 #1. They also brought some choice issues over and above their $1 blow out back issues:
  9. Albert Moy had some incredible original art eye candy near front gate: Took at least 45 mins to exit the free parking lot as they closed off 2 of the 3 potential exits to control in/out flow of car traffic. Then took another 15 mins to crawl to freeway on ramp due to volume of cars exiting. Locals who new the area avoided these problems by parking on the residential streets or toward the far back of the free parking lot so easier to exit.
  10. About constant 1 hr line up for Steranko sig. Aboout 20 mins line up for Jim Shooter except on Sat. when he left for a 1 hr panel w/ Roy Thomas and quick lunch. Loved the military display on Puyallup fairgrounds.
  11. 3rd annual Kelowna Comic-con Expo on August 24-25, 2019 at Kelowna Curling Club 551 Recreation Ave, Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. Guest of honor: artist/painter Arthur Suydam (Marvel Zombie covers, Cholly and Flytrap). Some dealer's booths 10' x 10' are still available at $300 for the weekend. 27,000 square feet of pop culture, comic, toy and family fun. Admission: $20/day. I will be vending and sharing an end cap booth near the front gate as 'Comic Adventures.' More media and comic guests to be announced at: 2 day Kelowna Comic-con A wide variety of collectible comics and magazines will be available:
  12. "Catwoman" movie worse than "Jonah Hex" movie (got Rotten Tomatoes rating of 0, nil) worse than Transformers #1 movie that I wanted to walk out of after 1st 10 mins due to very predictable directing, bad acting.
  13. Found their vendor's list. Albert Moy will be there with original comic art for sale. HotFlips supplies has 2 booths # 155, 190: Puyallup vendor's booth layout
  14. Any estimate as to how many comic vendors may show up? I did not see a vendor list on their WA website. 10' x 10' weekend booth cost at $350 is quite reasonable for the smaller vendor.
  15. I believe there was a digest sized(?) ASM insert with Eye mag Feb, 1969. This is a pic of the Stan Lee 'a pretty kinky guy' interview from the mag:
  16. I would say it was Fool's Gold phase 1 after the boom times of 1990 (McFarlane then Image then Valiant craze) to 1993 market crash and bankrupt comic/sports card shops and comic distributors. Fool's Gold phase 2 (or the Variant spec age) is causing half of my LCS's to close the last 3 years. It is overly easy for LCS to pre-order extra copies of all these weekly variant covers (e.g. Artgerm DC or Marvel) and have to discount them 60% below cover price 1 month later, as they have too many long boxes of them to store since every Wed. there are even more variant covers arriving from Diamond Distribution.
  17. Even the Swamp Thing Wal-mart comics are creepy. Issue #3 has re-introduction of Abigail Arcane plus Blue Devil back up story. Only distributed in USA Wal-marts.
  18. The Mongolian 'Fang Gow' storyline seems to be convoluted as it ran through different GA DC titles like More Fun, New Adventure, Adventure Comics. Leo O'Mealia excellent artwork on Barry O'Neill's 'Fang Gow' from More Fun #29: Dramatic themes like selling one's daughter into slavery or instruments of torture all found in a 2 page storyline. You could also branch out into collecting pulps with an evil Yellow peril theme since you like Dr Fu Manchu:
  19. I recommend Adventure Comics #33 for you, as it has 2 Chinese tales in it: "Golden Dragon" and what appears to be a Fang Gow story.
  20. Similiar to a local Canadian newspaper review. Instead, I re-watched Pacific Rim (2) Uprising on dvd to get my fix of kaiju vs Jaegars stomping around coastal cities.
  21. The buyer needed some reading material while he was trimming his hedge, as it were.
  22. 1. Watchmen 2. Cloak and Dagger #1-4 drawn by Rick Leonardi, inks by Austin. 3. Machine Man mini drawn by BWS. Introduces Iron Man 2020.
  23. Since you were spent, the buyer wanted to Kick Start his business of porno decorated lawnmowers for sale or rent.
  24. Looks interesting enough with Warrior Nuns as the right-hand/enforcement of God plus international flavor as per the Japanese theme cover Bleeding Cool uploaded.
