  1. This is just a generalization, but approximately four years ago pieces during the heritage live auction only went up 40 to 60%. Lately, on live bidding day we are seeing pages and covers rise by multiples, 3×4 times and even five times is not uncommon
  2. Agreed. I think your examples of UGs provides further validation that the direct market started well before Phil Sueling made his distribution deals with Marvel, and Dazzler #1 is NOT the 1st direct-only book
  3. Two Williamson Corrigan dailies for $1.3K, followed by a daily for under $400. I know what you're trying to say, but I think these examples (sold over the past month on HA) are not low end, rather, they are huge deals!
  4. I don't think so. Cerebus #1 was published in '77 and I can't imagine it had any distribution to newsstand...only direct distribution. There are probably earlier examples than Cerebus #1, but its the earliest example I can think of that is not a promotional book.
  5. Its only a small image of Spidey in comparison to JJJ. I think the Spidey image is actually larger than what you'd get from Ditko's standard page/panel layout.
  6. Looks like the Ditko ASM splash took a significant jump today. Now at $324K
  7. Sorry, but after viewing all 11 episodes twice, this adaptation missed the mark. As a long time fan of the original published works, collector of TPB’s, Hardcover, watches, numerous statues & other Sandman family related merchandise, what I saw felt hollow and plastic. I hope the series ends in its current format/production ‘values’, and is handed over to someone competent enough to carry forward Neil’s vision correctly. And yes, I know that Neil was involved in various aspects of this production, but honestly, it’s totally missing the ethereal mood portrayed in the comics
  8. Enjoyed this movie for the most part…Dallas Bryce Howard cane easily be interchanged with any other actress her age
  9. Back in the very late 1980’s -early 1990’s, comic books experienced a significant spike in prices prior to, during, and post-recession. The price spikes were so pronounced that Overstreet began to publish Quarterly price updates, and eventually, bi-monthly updates. I can’t speak to OA values from that period as I wasn’t involved in that market.
  10. Continuing to take my collection to the next level by spending like a drunken sailor!
  11. Let me clarify… I meant to say that the weekend warriors won’t be there to sell their overstock/personal collections. All that’s left would be the bigger setups, such as Metropolis, Reece, etc
  12. Agreed…the show has been dying a slow death. Soon, only the Corporate comic companies will set up at the show because They’ll be the only ones who can afford the fees
  13. Nothing to get excited about…guest list is pretty weak, rising booth costs have eliminated some more dealers from setting up this year, and as someone from out of town, airfare and hotel rates are through the roof this year. definitely not worthwhile going to this show this year
