  1. Not to mention being perpetually miserable no matter how much money, gadgets, or women you have in your life. Love Batman, but would hate to be him. Rather be Supes.
  2. I'm amazed. I've never seen the Gil Kane drawn one.
  3. Just came in today. My 2nd comic related purchase of the year. Amazing how cheap these early issues are.
  4. Would love to see this, but I personally don't think they'll have the balls to adapt Red Nails or Frost Giant's Daughter without neutering it a bit given the sexual overtones mixed with graphic violence. Then again, we did get Starz Spartacus so you never know.
  5. Wasn't much of teaser in my opinion. Showed a lot of scenes, but none of them showed me what I wanted to see or even got me motivated to wait. Pretty ho-hum. Maybe they should have gone with the "less is more" approach.
  6. Great memories. Mar-vell was one of my favorite characters as a kid. Cooler than Spider-Man to me in many ways. Of course, they killed him off
  7. My first comic related purchase of the year. Really slowing down, probably because my focus has been on the sports card market leading up to the Super Bowl. Anyway, just a cheap pick up from CLINK. Not a very big (size size) or glamorous piece of artwork, but I love Dustin NGuyen's Batman related work. Catwoman looks just beautiful despite this being just a simple line sketch. It'll look nice on my desk anyway.
  8. I just realized I haven't mentioned this one. Still cheap (comparatively speaking). Only a matter of time before another movie comes out.
  9. Not a Supes collector, but I would love to have this copy.
  10. That. Also, up to this point, I don't believe it was official that Swamp Thing was part of the same DC universe. Book was reprinted in the oversized edition: Batman's Strangest Cases. This was my first exposure to it and it's been reprinted a few times since.
  11. Chalk it up as a lesson learned and just move on. No sense letting it eat at you at this point.
  12. I've been seeking reasonably priced copies of Vampire Tales #2 (first Satana) for a little while now, but I think it might have caught on with other folks as well. Graded copies are priced way, way above of what you'd might expect.
  13. The chicks dig my perfect Giant-Size Man-Thing CGC 9.8
  14. Don't know if it's just common or no one wants it, but World's Finest #2 is usually easy to find and relatively cheap (comparatively speaking when it comes to GA).
  15. Alexa just says "Pay your d@mn taxes, you dead beat". Thanks to all. I'm looking at finding either a financial planner or tax attorney right now. Ideally, I want to move the income into something where I can defer the tax like my 401k until later if possible. If not, I guess I'll have to eat the tax. 28% = ouch!
  16. I think Man-Thing still has room to grow if done right (the movie was a joke). Savage Tales #1 is already pricey though, but not because of Man-Thing.
  17. Another concern is that this would probably bump me into another tax bracket (at least for this year) and I'll get penalized yet again.
  18. God, I'm cringing already. OK. I'll have to talk to a tax guy then.
  19. Silly question, but I wasn't able to get a definitive answer. When you co-sign high dollar books/art to places like Heritage, CLink, or even an established eBay seller, and they sell for say $100k or so, what do you do as far as taxes go? It's not exactly the same as selling property or your home. I've sold books through CLink before, I guess the amounts were insignificant because I've never had to report the sale or anything. Thx.
  20. Yeah, I don't have a lot, but these are two notables in my really meager collection.
  21. Unless it’s a reader copy or low cost set filler (less than $50), I never buy the mid-lower grade slabbed books. I like the liquidity of the higher grades if I need to sell quickly. I do make exceptions for GA or early SA though.
