  1. What I've found, a book is high grade if someone is trying to sell to me. It's low grade when they're trying to buy from me.

    Frazetta Greatness IV

One of my favorite EERIE issues ever. Congrats.
  3. He's a comic book fan. You're a comic book collector. Big difference IMO.
  4. I don't really collect sportscards any more, but I do still have a few cards in my closet. These are the most notable keys in my small pile of Patriots cards. Thinking of finally selling off if the Pats make it to another Super Bowl this year.
  5. Best book I see in the bunch is Catwoman #1, but that does say much. My LCS has multiple copies available for about $5 each.
  6. 1. Creepy (by a very small margin) 2. Eerie 3. Vampirella 4. The Rook 5. Blazing Combat 6. Famous Monsters 7. Comix International All the rest as lumped into the #8 slot. This would include 1984/1994, Pantha, etc..
  7. I've have a real fondness for the Marvel .20 cent era. If I was filthy rich with $$ to blow, I'd collect every .20 cent issue ever published. Same for the DC .25 cent "Big" 48pp and 52pp period just before DC reduced the page count and brought the cover price down a nickel to match Marvel.
  8. Maybe not my favorite, but I definitely underpaid. This is a really lousy scan. The dot matrix effect is from the scanner and not actually on the book. Fairly nice raw copy. Won it for $11 shipped.
  9. Not sure why I bid on the DD or the Conan. Certainly didn't need another #1. The MP 4 however, I'm very excited about. After 30+ years, I've finally reacquired another copy of this book.
  10. I'd like to get a nice slabbed copy of Tec 405, but not feeling very motivated to spend a lot for it. Not a hugely expensive book compared to the other Adams books to begin with, but one that I don't have. I'm OK with my raw copy for now.
  11. Found these cheap readers without board or bag in a drek box. Considering how badly they were stored, I thought they were in surprisingly good condition. Had to rescue them. Loved Kubert's DC run on Tarzan as a kid.
  12. Yeah. Especially Mike Grell's Saturn Girl. Heck, all of Mike Grell's female legionnaires were hot. Some of the provocative costumes of the BA.
  13. Talia Al Ghul. . . . . . . And that's all I'm gonna say. Tell me Bats didn't tag that like Mike Tyson that night.
  14. Rampaging Hulk was a superb run. Especially the early issues. Beautifully written and drawn. Not sure why these books are not 10x more popular than what they are.

    Frazetta Greatness III

Very impressive. Those early Frazetta Warrens are still underappreciated to this day.
  16. I actually have a lot more than 3 Eva Drys in there these days. Unfortunately, my safe is in my basement and I have horrible humidity problems in the summer. Believe me, it's NEVER too dry in my safe because of it. At it's worse, I have to recharge the units every 1.5 weeks before they become saturated. It's much better in the winter though where I can go about 3 weeks before having to check. I also have an electric dehumidifier running as well that I have to empty out every couple of days during the peak season.
  17. I buy new comics purely for the reading enjoyment, usually via the trades. Thinking about going digital at the moment. From an investment perspective? Nada. After "returning" to the hobby back in 2012 or so, I actually found it refreshing to be able to buy and enjoy a comic without being paranoid about keep it in pristine condition like the old days. I actually get to enjoy the book for whatever entertainment value it offers versus whatever ROI I can get from it.
  18. I personally would feel very uncomfortable about putting so much weight on the lower slabs. You can't get any type shelving for the safe? This is an old pic, but I keep my books upright.
  19. I actually stopped watching this show a long time ago (after season 2-3). Zombie saturation killed it for me. Surprised it's still on the air.

    Beckett

I like CBCS, but if it morphs into Beckett, I'm going to be avoiding CBCS slabs going forward. Don't collect cards any more, but when I did, Beckett really soured on me. Their policy of accepting sheetcuts made it all too easy for trimmed cards to get graded. Got seriously burned on a few BGS cards back in the day. Not to say that PSA hasn't allowed a few sheet cuts/trimmed cards get by, but at least they have a formal policy against this and actively look for it rather than just accept it as being "OK".
  21. Keep the slab. H181 has been reprinted several times so there's plenty of reader options. You can even find scanned copies online if you look.
