    Beckett

I like CBCS, but if it morphs into Beckett, I'm going to be avoiding CBCS slabs going forward. Don't collect cards any more, but when I did, Beckett really soured on me. Their policy of accepting sheetcuts made it all too easy for trimmed cards to get graded. Got seriously burned on a few BGS cards back in the day. Not to say that PSA hasn't allowed a few sheet cuts/trimmed cards get by, but at least they have a formal policy against this and actively look for it rather than just accept it as being "OK".
  2. Keep the slab. H181 has been reprinted several times so there's plenty of reader options. You can even find scanned copies online if you look.
  3. The best stuff will still be around. Chemical treatment does wonders.
  4. I'm sure the card companies would love to pick this up (and consequently cut it up into small swatches to to be included in packs of cards as variants).
  5. I think the Adams issues are a must have as well in my opinion.
  6. 181 is my favorite book of the run. Really violent for the times and pushed the code restrictions to it's limits. Then again, the whole series was like that.
  7. Or how about a really nice trade hardcover or two? Many of DC's Absolute Editions are great for any collector or fan of comic books. Morrison's Batman and Robin quickly comes to mind. Others, JLA: Identity Crisis, Hush, Batman: Long Halloween, Kingdom Com, etc..
  8. Can't answer the question, but I wouldn't go the beater route myself if I'm only limited to $100. Pick up something with nice eye appeal and at least mid to high grade.

    R.I.P. Woody

Don't have a lot of pics. My daughter probably has a million, but I do have these on my phone with her chilling on the sofa with the dogs. I think my daughter took these during last Christmas.

    R.I.P. Woody

My daughter is on her 3rd rabbit. First one lasted for about 7-8 years (not sure exactly, she was fully grown when we adopted her), the second one not even a year, the current one is going on 5 years now. Really miss the second one (she was a lop). She was very "dog like" in her behavior and interaction with us. We viewed her no differently than our other two dogs. Just got sick one day and passed away despite a trip to the local animal ER. Both were carefully buried in our backyard with headstones.
  11. Godspeed. Sorry about the loss of the your collection, which is also a loss for future generations as well, but I'm really glad you and your family are safe. This has been an insane year for natural disasters. I hope this does not mean we'll have brutal winter ahead of us.
  12. Yeah, I'm really not sure why the 9.0 did not grade higher. I'd like the see the grader's notes as it's a beautiful copy. Comparing side-by-side with the 9.4's, I'd say it's at least a 9.2 if not a borderline 9.4. There's a couple of very light spine ticks, but I've seen ticks like this on higher graded books.
  13. Awesome books. I always meant to get this one eventually, but I guess I've missed the boat a long time ago.
  14. Another Satana (far right) added to the collection.
  15. Been using EVA-dry products for years in my safes. Never had an issue with rust, although I've used more than one in each safe just to be sure. I have large gun safe that is not airtight and one fire safe that *is* airtight. I used the E300s in all of them. Please note, the company seemed to have changed the color scheme to work in reverse now. Before "Blue" was dry and "Pink" was wet. Now it's the other way around. They changed the labeling of course so it's clear to the user, but if you're using a combination of older/newer units like I am, it can be visually confusing.
  16. Well, it looks like that Twin Cities 9.6 is no longer alone at the top spot for Tec 395. This copy certainly looks a lot sharper than that other 9.6. If I recall, that other book originally sold for 5k+ over at Heritage a few years ago, but later went for lower about a year or two later.
  17. Beautiful. The Creepy and Eerie series have been undervalued for decades. Still doesn't get the amount of attention it deserves even today.
  18. I think including the grader's notes on the back would be enough to resolve this.
  19. I've never heard of this title before. Is it supposed to be a humor/satire mag like Cracked/Mad or a horror mag like the Warren stuff?
  20. Some more early Satana. Definitely the two best Satana covers of the era. I know RR gets all the attention for MP #7 these days, but this book also has the best written and drawn Satana story of the BA in my opinion. Finally able to pick up a cheap reader copy.
  21. Wow. This is some really great stuff.
