  1. No pics.......yet. Mind you, these are raw so they're nothing special. Almost there through. I'm short 12 issues from the regular run and missing annuals #3 and #4. One day, hopefully before I retire, I can set some time aside to read through the entire run.
  2. It got that way when I completed Conan 1-100, which is why I stopped at 100. Getting that way now while I'm collecting DC's Warlord 1-133.
  3. What exactly are the "in-demand" issues of Heavy Metal? I used to collect Heavy Metal back in the day late '70s to early '80s. Overstreet has since removed them from the guide so it's been difficult to catch up on any of the keys in the series. I assume aside from the first 12 issues, first appearances of characters like Druuna or references to the two movies are probably in demand, but I'm not sure what else.
  4. Picked up the Blu-ray tonight. Loved it. Beautiful to look at. Well done extension of the Bladerunner universe.
  5. I would love to see a gritty, police oriented, "real world" title like Gotham Central with Harvey Bullock as the main character. Could you imagine a "True Detectives" take on a book like that? So many real world based stories can be explored. This book would take off.
  6. OK. Let's take a look at one of the most overrated ones. Hint, where is Joker's left hip and knee? Is this Joker or Plastic Man?
  7. Really well presenting copy. Congrats. Loaded an alternate copy of the image just in case the forum owners have issues with the image.
  8. If the studios can treat this property seriously like LOTRs, it would take off. All the same elements are there. And by God, we DON'T need an origin story.
  9. It might have been Wilmington, but I'm not sure.
  10. Not a huge fan of his, but he belongs and will get in (eventually).
  11. Well, at least he had a price on it. I remember about about 20-25 years ago when I was in NC, I stumbled into a LCS and saw an entire wall full of extremely good SA/BA books (multiple keys, IH 181, X-men 94, Spidey 129, etc..), but no price tags. Now I was out of comics by then, but I had to stop and ask what he was asking for this one NM copy of DD #158. He said it wasn't for sale. As it turned out, 90% of the store was covered by his private collection that he had on intentions of selling. The a-hole was just using these to draw people in. The only thing you could actually buy was the drek in his bins. Needless to say, I bought nothing and walked thinking "no wonder the industry is going to mess".
  12. Wow. Quite a surprise. Not sure if I should be happy or worried about this. I think Dark Horse has done a great job with the license since acquiring it. I hope Marvel doesn't screw the pooch on this one like they did years ago. The quality at the end was really bad.
  13. Maybe not now, but it wouldn't surprise me if this book eventually gets there to that price. Blue chips keep going. Maybe at varying speeds depending the title/character/economics, but they keep going. Who would have thought that AF #15 would ever hit a million a decade or two ago.
  14. I don't normally like purple labels, but this would a good book for that if this was mine. It presents beautifully as is and would be even better if cleaned up a bit. The thing I hate about tape is that the adhesive gets nastier and nastier as time goes by and damages the paper even more. If it weren't for that, I'd leave it alone.
  15. I'm OK with OW/W for most books older than the mid-70s. Anything more recent up to modern, I like W pages. It would be an exception for me if I buy anything with lower PQ in any era. Brittle and [strictly] cream pages are deal breakers for me. Once again, I'll make an exception every now and then depending on the book (i.e. my only cream books is a copy of Worlds Finest #2 in cream-O/W, but the cover is very bright).
  16. Hell yeah. That's it. A beautiful copy as well. What memories.
  17. I used to have a comic catalog back in the '70s (I think it was Pacific Comics) that used that same painting for it's cover. It was definitely the best produced dealer catalog I had ever seen. I wish I still had that book. A collectible in it's own right.
  18. Hey, I know this place. Damn shame. Good people. The pic is of their raw wall books, but they also keep more expensive slabbed ones in a different room. Hope they find this creep soon. Fairly clean mug shot too. Wouldn't be surprised if this insufficiently_thoughtful_person tries to sell the books down the road at Bedrock Comics in Natick.

  20. I have a running inventory of all my "liquid" books on a spreadsheet that my wife has. Spoke with CLink. In the event something happens to me, they're willing to drive down and pick up my entire collection for auction (they're only 2 hours away). Have all my other stuff inventoried in the same way (i.e. sports cards, firearms, etc..). Anything she doesn't want to keep, goes into consignment with a dealer I've specified.
  21. Well, since it's not practical to collect 'Tec #27 to the present or Batman #1 to the present, the next best thing is my Adams Bats run, which I completed 3 years ago, my Barry Smith Conan run, about a couple of years ago, and Miller DD last year. Thinking of putting together a run of DC's Warlord these days. I think I'm one of maybe eight people in the world that cares about this series so it should be cheap to acquire.
  22. The top 3 I'm most excited about. I actually got all of these at around the same time so I consider it a single purchase. Love that cover. And of course, Ivy....................................... Honorable mention..........................................................
