  1. Interesting. I've been to the PEM before. It's about an hour from where I live. Might check this out.
  2. Maybe I'm misunderstanding the original post, but I don't personally view this list as keys. These are just submission results driven by speculator interest for whatever window of time when there was interest in that particular book. Some hit, but most miss. Out of it, only a fraction would be what I would traditionally call a "key" (i.e. Batman Adventures 12, TT #2, etc. for example).
  3. I have issues 3, 6, and 7. Bought them just for the covers alone.
  4. I thought she looked even better as her alter ego on the show. If not for Lynda Carter, this would have been my second choice for Wonder Woman of the '70s.
  5. Dark Knight Returns #1 (but you should get the whole 4 book set anyway) Batman 404 (ditto, get all 4 books 404-407) I guess the whole "Death in the Family" arc is considered key as well, but I never got into it that I'd want to chase buying it (unlike DKR which is a must have).
  6. Hadn't thought about Joanna Cameron in years. I thought the show was lame even as a kid, but she was just drop dead gorgeous in it.
  7. Great book. Surprised this hasn't sold yet. You don't see a lot of copies 8.0 and above. GLWTS.
  8. Nice books, but God, did I hate that period when Marvel attached those annoying yellow ad banners towards the top of the covers. Ruined a lot of iconic covers for the time (X-Men 137 comes immediately to mind).
  9. Loved Aparo. Second best Batman artist of the era. The only thing I thought he couldn't do that I thought Adams did significantly better was drawing the ladies. Adams's gals looked like they leaped out of the pages of Playboy whereas Aparo's looked like trannies (bad ones).
  10. One day I'll get into this series. I think I saw part of episode one, season one, but never finished it. Have it Blu-Ray somewhere.
  11. JLA 75 is the second appearance of GA in the new costume, right? I know BB #85 is the first appearance, but not sure what is the 2nd.
  12. Yeah. That would be Conan 22. Got a copy of that already. Aiming to have a nice reader accompany all my slabbed copies. It's just that I'm particularly picky about issue #1.
  13. This is why I've never kept a pull list even back in the day when I was still heavily collecting. If I can't guarantee I can come and pick up my stuff, I don't inconvenience others by ordering it.
  14. I've just tried it. Don't seem to have a problem resizing, cropping, or editing any of the images. I just SAVE AS, and once I have the file locally, I can do pretty much whatever I want. I use Paint.Net for all my photo shopping needs.
  15. Why would anyone sell a collection like this via CL unless it's stolen property?
  16. I hate pressing, but admit that it's an accepted part of the hobby now. That said, I am so tempted to have my old label 9.0 white pages squished after seeing these insane prices for Bats 251. It has a very good chance at 9.4 minimum if not a 9.6. Great centering too.
  17. Haven't really noticed this. Got an example I can DL and play with?
  18. Fuel for the fire. My current fav.
  19. Nah. The Smith run is too good. You gotta have a nice copy to fondle. Reading the Darkhorse HCs just aren't the same. The funky coloring ruined it for me.
  20. Absolute nada for me. Was the under bidder on several, but once the bidding got crazy, I gave up early. Didn't really see a lot of books this time around that I was overly excited about that I'd want to over pay for.
  21. Not so much as huge mover, but I do have to comment that I'm disappointed that Heavy Metal has not been added back into the price guide. Don't know when it was excluded, but my priceguides from the late '70s/early '80s included it. Similar adult titles like Gasm and Warren's 1984/94 are still there though so I don't know what's up with that.
  22. Very nice. Been looking for a nice raw copy to go along with my 9.6 as a companion piece, but you just don't see them in the wild any more. I'm thinking most nice copies have already been slabbed by now. Got a reader copy with tape repair filling that role now.

    Conan 11

Congrats. One of my favorites. Behind issue #24, I think this comes in as the second best executed book of the Smith run. A real shame Conan is not as appreciated these days as in the past. Oh well. More for collectors like you and me.
  24. Captain Marvel #25? Well, at least it was a book I always coveted anyway. Although I think it's probably in the same class as DD #158 and on the fence for a lot of people. Although the sword and sorcery genre may be dead, I really like Creatures on the Loose 10 (1st Kull by Wrightson) and Chamber of Darkness #4 (conan try-out by B.Smith). I like Strange Tales #180 as well for 1st Gamora.
  25. Posted this in the Bats 227 thread, but Batman 251 and Detective 411 made some pretty huge jumps from the previous year. Sharing 1st and 2nd place respectively as far as most expensive Batman books of the BA. I expected both to go up, but this was still surprising.
