  1. Got nothing this round (again). I'm astounded at some of the final hammer bids. Put a really aggressive bid on that 'Tec 359 cgc 9.2 that I thought was a sure thing, but lost out fairly early. Went for a mind boggling $7,909. Way more than the 9.6 that sold two years ago and near the price of the 9.8 that sold back in '13.
  2. Wonderful memories. Loved that series when I was a kid. Chewed the gum right away and stuck the stickers virtually every where. I actually came across an unopened box at a local collectibles shop while vacationing in Cape Code about 3 years. Was tempted to pick it up, but decided not to get caught up in that collecting niche.
  3. If you drop it and crack the casing, the silica pellets can spill out. Not a big deal. Just sweep it up. The silica will never get to the point where it's actually "wet". Once passed it's saturation threshold, it'll change color simply stop absorbing moisture. I like these units because I can just plug them into the wall to recharge. No need to stick the silica into the oven overnight like other solutions.
  4. Conan. Not even close. When Tarzan poops his drawers, it's because he's been raised by dumb apes and don't know any better. When Conan does it, it's usually because he's being a badass and on top of a vanquished enemy's head.
  5. Woah. Did not see this one coming. RIP to a great writer and one of the most important contributors to the industry.
  6. My first purchase in quite a few months. Just some high grade finds at a LCS. Got quite a deal too. The Kulls are especially nice (between 8.5-9.0). Didn't need them, but at $10 a pop, I bought all of them..
  7. I use these. https://www.amazon.com/CGC-PGX-Graded-Comic-Storage/dp/B00SK66Y38
  8. I've got a copy of that stowed away somewhere. My first intro to Druuna. Actually bought it off the stands at a time when I wasn't collecting any more. Floored by how graphic the sex was even for HM.
  9. A lot of interesting projects gets talked about or have feelers sent out, but I'll believe this one when I see it. It'd be cool, but I wouldn't be surprised if this lingers in development hell for a bit and just drop off the radar.
  10. Last couple of episodes have slowed down a bit for me, but I'm still loving this series. This is the only show I find myself anticipating every week and that's a first for me in a long time. Full disclosure; I never read the series so I've nothing to compare it too.
  11. This is why I've kept my collection small and relatively focused. I know I'll eventually want to liquidate as easily and as quickly as possible. Not quite there yet to where I'd want to, but given that my buying trend has diminished greatly over the last two years, I may be nearing there myself. Best of luck moving on.
  12. Maybe the seller asked that it be removed? Not sure how that works, but now that you've mentioned it, it's missing from my "Ended" listing as well. I still have a link to the original listing PRIOR the one that sold for 2k+ though. Definitely the same book from the same seller. http://www.ebay.com/itm/332252460840?ul_noapp=true
  13. No. It's the same copy that supposed to have sold for 2k+ last month. Either the buyer didn't pay or the book was returned. I actually bid on that one myself via my phone app, but was *very* glad I didn't win after I got home and got a good look at the scan. There's something really wrong about this book. I've seen much, much nicer copies with lower grades than this. The spine scuffing (or vertical creasing) is really bad on this book, especially in the upper, left corner. This might have been a really bad roll crease that got pressed out. From just the image alone, I would have graded it a 6.0-7.0 at best if I hadn't had seen the label.
  14. It's funny that by in the peak days, Arnold was proposed or targeted for the role of Sgt Rock. As much as I love Arnie's flicks back in the '80s/'90s, I just couldn't imagine Sgt Rock with such a thick Austrian accent. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing a modern interpretation of both Sgt Rock and the Blackhawk squadron "taking the fight" to Darkseid's forces in JLA or JLA2, led by either Batman or Wonder Woman.
  15. He's one of the owners of Bedrock Comics in Natick, MA. Nice guy. Small shop, but they consistently seem to find gems in the rough. Since coming back into the hobby, I've picked up A LOT of great raw stuff from there and at great prices too.
  16. Wow. Back from the dead after 9 years!
  17. Wait, are you asking what 16 to buy? Or what 16 books that either you have (of which we don't have any idea) or what would we select if this is was our collection?
  18. Been meaning to go to one of these seeing as it's right in my home town, but completely forgot about it this year.
  19. Maybe because it looks like he's singing on the cover?
  20. I had not heard this. To be honest, I've never heard of Glanzman until about two years ago when I found this beautiful 9.6ish Dell Combat #21 in a $3 bargin bin mixed with a bunch of low grade drek. Was taken back by how great the cover was. Not a huge fan of war books, but I do have this one on wall because it's so cool to look at. Original PGM thread back in 2015 with additional pics.
  21. Dave Stevens's stuff is great and I have a few books with his covers, but this particular one has always bothered me. Mainly because I'm familiar with Marilyn Monroe's early history of sexual abuse as a minor going from one foster home to another. What really did it for me was this one TV drama about her early career where they portrayed her actually getting raped in the middle of the night while in her bed - exactly like this scene on the cover. Whether or not that exact event took place, I just couldn't look at this cover in the same way again.
  22. It took me almost 30 years, but I finally read this book via a deal I got on the TPB. Put me in the underwhelmed camp.
