  1. You think PGX is that awful that they'll miss something that obvious? The larger risk would be restoration but they'll screen for that as part of the crossover submissions deal
  2. Yeah but that's on the back burner, way more down the road. Perhaps I'll go for a 9.2 depends what the market says at the time??? I'll likely go after #120 before that since I'm more into alpha flight than Phoenix plus i don't have nearly enough Byrne stuff in my collecting so I'm craving a 120. Curious do you have them raw or graded?
  3. Yeah I'm attempting to complete a high grade mini run of X-Men (GSMX - #100). Not really into collecting runs but I'm so in love with very early new X-Men I'm going for it. Trying for mostly 9.8 but a couple will be 9.4 - 9.6.
  4. Exactly! It's been gone over here time after time, that number is inflated. The fact that the increase has been very steady since 2012 without any catalyst is a more meaningful valuation increase. I'm not sure how people can conclude it's potential is limited with the possibility of the MCU rebooting X-Men or even better a Hulk v Wolve recreation hanging out there? Hopefully it'll be done with a decent actor wearing a costume that actually looks like wolverine instead of a white tank top... for a change
  5. It's only 11 bucks a month. Well worth it! I should note that if you're interested in looking up values of raw books then a traditional price guide is what you'll need. GPA is just for graded CGC slabs.
  6. Oh ok I gotcha! Typing "the" would norrow it down. I'll give it a try. Thanks for the tip
  7. Optimus Prime & Omega Supreme, a bunch of other transformers in the 80's. I think maybe it was because my older cousin had separated my shoulder horsing around a month earlier. I guess my parents went the extra mile after the ordeal. Sadly all those old toys are long gone by now
  8. GPA is a price guide. It gives you a list of actual sales dating back to when CGC started grading comics in '99. Very easy just look up whatever title you're interested in looking up on the search engine. Those old price guide books are pretty much relics at this point with sites like GPA. These things can move fast with internet, eBay sales & all. If you're a serious collector GPA is essential. Only negative is that you can't look up a specific title like "amazing Spider-man" or "incredible Hulk" instead they force you to search by just the character's name & look through a list of titles involving this character. This is a pain especially when searching Spiderman or X-Men. Hope that helps.
  9. Those Andru art pieces seem to be scrubbed from the internet or something? Infact it's tough to find anything from electric company magazine other than just the covers. That stuff is really obscure! If you dig deep enough on Google you can find some Buscema stuff from electric company but nothing from Andru. I've never seen any of those that are directly from "electric company magazine" and not from more familiar "Spidey super stories" comic book which is also from electric company. Have you checked if any of those EC magazines are on sale anywhere?
  10. Yup it's 136 but it's when Peter is having the flashback at Mary Jane's hospital bed after the explosion. Here's a couple more panels from 137. I'm pretty sure you already know which of the three 💣 was the real one ...
  11. Yeah that's Cyclone from last page of ASM 143. Ok gotta go...
  12. No it wasn't that particular sketch. I saw the cut & paste job on that old comic strip style panel & remembered right away it was from those old electric company videos in the 70's. I used to watch those way back when YouTube was kind of new. Wonder why they didn't let Spidey talk & just gave him comment bubbles??? Anyway that's a good one though! Can't post for awhile here since I'm at work but just wanted to get back to you real quick
  13. Some more Andru panels here. Guy's a beast I tell you!!! Who can guess which issues? Last one should be easy
  14. "Spidey meets the blowhard" 1975. That's the end of the story where he goes out with Paul the gorilla to get a new cake after Paul throws the cake in blowhard's face. Thought you were gonna stump me on that one huh?! Nothin doin bub!
  15. Andru's menacing goblin eyes...I love, I love Wish he was still around
  16. I'll go out on a limb and guess young Frank was a big Julie Newmar fan
  17. Typically the more information that's on the label as in signature books for example the longer it takes for reholders. That's my experience. I've submitted regular blue labels that came back in a bit over a week & yellow labels that took ~5 or 6 weeks. I'd imagine special price variant notations would delay your books Antium. I'd probably include a note along with the submissions just to be sure they don't forget the notation
  18. Frank Miller wrote that in '77 when he was 20. I think he wrote another letter to Stan years earlier regarding "the Cat" if I'm not mistaken Oops, I suppose he was 19 not 20...
  19. Pressing is not cheap. It would run you 60 dollars under standard tier. It's less under the lower tiers but it would take forever for you to get it back. Assuming he submitted under standard tier it probably ran about 90 something dollars for the press + crossover regrade. That's not counting handling fee + shipping cost to & from CGC. These submissions always end up more pricey than anticipated
  20. Not the most valuable of the year but favourites none the less. I'm probably going to resubmit this for screening & possible press regarde. It was graded in 2002 & i suspect it may be too strict after combing thru it under magnification a zillion times. Also love Tuska's art! This was for my love of Morbius & Gill Kane covers. Maybe some movie excitement? The general eye appeal got me on this as the H in "with" on the right edge is notoriously cropped off on many of these This was bought from a boardie here. It doesnt come up too often & the eye appeal overcame the page quality so I couldn't pass it up at a really decent price There's a couple more X-Men #s 97, 100 on the pipeline but it'll be real quiet after that. Trying to save some scratch for #94.
  21. I guess maybe the OA for IH 180 page 32 was just simply... unavailable for him? Seriously where would you even keep that stuff? I haven't been on these boards too long so I wonder if anyone ever posted anything of higher value?
  22. So far by my count the cbcs are coming back @ ~80% same or higher grades. Small sample but it's something
