  1. Missed the Darkhawk options for DeFalco b/c of how credits are indexed in my inventory app. But, definitely not Batman's first appearance is certainly a popular book for a character he helped create. Overall sharp, but it has some waviness that I tried to show, not sure how obvious it will be in the photo. I feel like this phenomenon has been discussed before, and is easily pressed out most of the time. Tell me if I'm remembering this incorrectly.
  2. This looks closer to the 82, but it looks like a tear right about the S in STRANGE. 5.5/6.0
  3. Maybe a little sun shadow or dust shadow on that back cover? 6.0/6.5
  4. Yes. We've bemoaned on this forum many times that the loss of the Tattooz earns a Green Label. Seems a little silly. IDK how you're going to press it, but when I submitted mine, the guy I use says you can't use as high a heat or the tattoo gets goopy or something. Putting boards inside is necessary to prevent pressing indentions of the insert into the book. I assume this is well known by anyone who presses comics regularly, but just in case.
  5. Those look like gripper holes if they're lined up. 5.5ish. The creasing and crumpling on the outer edge being the biggest issue. There's also a fair amount of discoloration around the edges of the back cover. I'd look for similar on the inside of the covers, they're dinging this type of issue quite regularly
  6. IDK if you were meaning to highlight the light spot in the pink along the outer edge, but that does not appear to be a color issue. So just some minor little white spots in the green. Back has some soiling. 7.5/8.0 as is, maybe a grade higher with C/P
  7. 9.0/9.2 unless that little piece on the outer edge is ready to fall out. I assume you did the flashlight check to make sure the Tattooz is intact?
  8. 9.2±0.2 after C&P for the reasons @Bayowolf says
  9. A little rough along the spine. 8.0/8.5 unless this is somehow a manufacturing issue.
  10. If it's on the cover and unverified, I don't think I've seen a blue label or any notation of who might have signed it. On the inside, I see blue labels and some notation of what the name is. It's not 100% clear to me if the internal signature is treated any differently than any other marks inside the book. The sigs on the margins that "doesn't affect story" wouldn't be a major defect regardless. Cynically, the internal signature doesn't have any impact on their bottom line with the signature series, and is treated thusly. If they started using yellow and blue labels on cover signatures, they'd be siphoning off potential business.
  11. 4.0/4.5. More like 4.5 on the front, but the larger tear, grime and general wear on the back will knock it down a level.
  12. 9.2 or better. Corners might be slightly blunted, which would preclude getting into the highest NM range.
  13. to bad you'll get a Green Label of Death now. I was lucky no creators would come within 300 miles of where I lived in '91 to write on my comics. Pretty sure I have a beat up copy in my childhood reading box. I know I bought this particular copy in the fairly recent past.
  14. I never noticed it before, but there's the tiniest of spine splits. Otherwise all the defects appear to be pressable indentions (glare really highlights the one in the "IS" near the spine).
  15. Another DeFalco candidate. Looks pretty solid, except the little light spot under the price box. My first though was that this was a small color rub. I throw a flashlight on it, and I'm not so sure. Looks like it still has gloss to it. Thoughts?
  16. I was looking at a few candidates for a DeFalco signature and found a few flaws that give me concern. TBH, this one probably wouldn't even be in the conversation if it wasn't a newsstand. Front looks pretty solid, but there are several spine stress lines along the back cover that might dip this below a break even sign/grade proposition
  17. CGC is hard on stains & the like. Light staining that's not terribly noticeable is already grounds for borderline VG/F. This is not light & is noticeable, so 4.0±0.5.
  18. 5.5±0.5. Corner creases and spine wear, kind of looks like a reader's crease.
  19. Front & back photos needed, also in this case the CGC registry number. There are clearly some digits I am incorrectly interpreting. You would be looking for defects that aren't color breaking. There are plenty that are, and the plastic case hides indentions and whatnot pretty well
  20. 8.5/9.0. It looks like there's a small crease on the top left of the back cover, otherwise I'd be higher.
  21. Bump, if anyone else wants to take a shot. Expect this back in hand in about a week. Maybe a little longer.
  22. I'm going to say 7.0, but who knows how much the little tear by that staple might count against a 70 year old book. Pretty sharp looking
  23. I was ready to go higher until I saw the spine split. 5.0 seems about right to me too.
