  5. Me too, and it was a total fluke that I ended up with two sets, but I got a great deal - love the art on these, and the story is cool too!
  6. This was kind of a crazy one for me - sorry in advance for all the text, I tend to like the stories behind the books/purchases. So, I've been on the lookout for a copy of Marvel's Freddy Krueger's Nightmare on Elm Street 2-issue run from the late 80s (89 I think?). The run got cut after only 2 issues because of concern over how parents and the public would view the mature content. If you're aware of these books, you know they can be pricey, so I've been looking for them at a decent cost, in nice shape, and I wanted to buy them as a set if possible. The other night I found some that fit my criteria and bought them - here they are: Literally the next day after I bought them, I saw a new listing pop up for a Nightmare on Elm Street lot that included the 2 Marvel books and 8 other books at what seemed like an awesome deal. I had to do my diligence, and since I already bought the books I wanted, I figured I'd think about it and I added it to my watchlist. About an hour later, the seller sent an offer that was literally one I couldn't refuse, based on what I had found when researching. I actually stopped what I was doing for work so I could get a chance to accept the offer and pay before it went away. So I ended up with 2 more Marvel copies in this lot, and a whole lot more: I found that the later issues of the Innovation run - especially Nightmares 6 - can be super tough to find. There are a couple on eBay and maybe one set last I checked, but it's nice to have them in this set, especially in such great condition.
  7. I always try to grab those oddball books when I see them in decent shape, especially for a buck. I found this one for $2 a few weeks ago at an LCS - turns out it's a pretty tough one to find:
  8. Thanks! I really like it, and it's been on my radar. I got a decent deal on the 9.6, and I was happy with that rather than paying the extra couple hundred for the grade bump. Got a really sweet deal on the 108 too, so I figured, why not?
  9. I bought a cgc copy of TMNT 3 from his site. At the time I thought it was a pretty nice deal/discount over eBay, but it looks like prices have softened a little. Paid $270 for a 9.2, so not terrible, and it's a nice looking copy. But yeah, I never watch his videos, I just don't love his content.
  10. I posted this in the antique store thread, but I think it's a fun story, so I wanted to post it here too: My parents went antiquing, and my dad said he found this one random comic in one of the shops. He knew the owner, and he asked how much, and the guy said, "I don't know, a buck?" My dad said cool, he wanted it for his kid who like comics (bear in mind I'm 43, I think that makes it funny for some reason... ) The guy told me dad he could just have it for free, he didn't even know where it came from. I bagged and boarded it - nothing really special as a comic, but it's a fun story of how I got it, and I'm glad pops is looking out for me!

  12. Dogs and Zombies (including some books from @paperheart - thanks!), and a couple of slabs including ASM 252 from @Mike22 - thank you too!
  13. I have a couple of the original Venom 3-packs where the King Thor was rumored to pop up, as well as a Strange Academy 1 3-pack, all still sealed. I'm tempted to crack them open and see what's in there (and get the Strange Academy in a bag/board), but I also think about how cool these could be to have sealed down the road. I'm torn...
  14. Such an underrated book. It's the first time the word/idea of "symbiotes" is mentioned too. This should be up there with the other Venom keys considering the story and especially the last page:
