Well up next is my second earliest book from the collection with a November 1962 cover date, only my copy of TTA #35 is the earlier with a Sept/62 cover date. Thanks to Grails for helping me out on this one.

Almost 75 have found their way home, in the last 13 months I've been at this insanity :insane:

For the record, even though I think it will be impossible for anyone to put the entire collection back together (some of those books seem to be truly Not For Sale at Any Price), I think it is awesome for you to try to get as many of them back together as you can.

Duanting task! :o "The power of Christ compells you". At your current clip you'll be done in 5-6 years.

I don't plan on dying in that time frame. :sumo: (but it could be arranged?) :o

On the comicpedigrees.com website , under the White Mountain story it says.......

"In fact, the collection had been selling piecemeal for years prior to the first Sotheby’s sale, beginning in 1984. In it were full runs of ‘50s material, most prominently horror and sci-fi, and full runs of early Silver Age titles. "

I was just wondering if there were any possible way to see what some of the comic auctions actually were, and what prices they realized.

Does anyone know if Sotheby's issued auction catalogs for these early comic sales ?

Here is a White Mountain that I won't be adding to the collection anytime soon, apparently.

http://cgi.ebay.com/STRANGE-TALES-123-CGC-9-6-WHITE-MOUNTAIN_W0QQitemZ260285151413QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item260285151413&_trkparms=39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A3%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

It is not too often that I let a White Mountain get past me, without at least taking a shot at it but at the $1700+ it is going to take to win this absolutely NOTHING book (IMO) ,with still two days to go, I'm not even going to try. :sorry:

I feel your pain. I went through some of the same in the last Comic Link Auction when non-key books went for insane prices. Save you nickels for another day because as sure as you overpay for this book another that you want will come up in the next round and you would have shot your bullets.
