I only bid on one thing in the Heritage live auction and lost it to a deep pocket this afternoon. Just call me Hillary...

(Actually, it's more cash for next weekend's Sac Con. Steve Wyatt has some Matt Baker books I'm likely to buy. And I'd rather give Steve my money than Heritage.)

$21500 for a slightly restored tec 29...I am thinking it is time to put my 3.5 blue up for sale!

Must really be saying something about the strength of the pre-Robin 'Tec books when restored copies such as both #29 and #31 can fetch almost full OS guide prices. :applause:

What I found really surprising was the restored lower graded copy of 'Tec 35 going for "close" to the same price multiple as the unrestored higher graded copy. Works out to just under 5X guide for the restored copy and just over 5X guide for the unrestored copy. :o

I backed off the unrestored copy for koko...but, I went kind of heavy after the "restored" copy, because in truth, a little scrape and it is a 3.0 blue label (upgrade from my 2.5)

Ther 2nd book is what I really wanted but wimped out at the last minute on HeritageLive... :(

I bid on that Phantom Lady on the floor. I gave up though when I realized that you and two other people were bidding on it. I was the only person on the floor who had any interest in any Fox books though. (shrug)

There are a LOT of GA books you can buy for the price of a 9.4 Hulk 181.

Yeah, but I wasn't married when I bought that :P I guess given the choice of a $1K plus book, I'd take the SA over the GA.

Bear in mind that the "restored" 3.0 is not really restored -- in the sense that anything you look it is not really what you think you're seeing. No pieces added. No artwork recreated. Everything called restoration here would be just as accurately (I would say more accurately) described as flaws which account for the lower grade.

I think I won this...and I don't care that it's restored, I no longer need a centerfold:) (now I'll have to start listing, or my daughter is not having a wedding;)sensation1.jpg

Great book!

I, however, have been shut-out yet again..... :sorry:

The streak continues..... :frustrated:

Well, I guess I have a streak too:) , I will never bid with Heritage again...I don't care how cheap their items appear to be...The thread in Comics general, I wasn't sure where to post it.. and although I did place some bids last night,i I'm sorry that I did...I wish all of you who won well, but I don't like their practices...and I'm kind of annoyed and ...don't need to give my business to people who are not fair...

My bid on that book took place at 6am PST, they "chose to honor" a floor bid for the same amount made more than 10 hours later... I posted the information in the other thread.

So, I thank you all for the congrats, but I suppose they were premature...the good part is, I don't need to sell more books, lol..and ...I think I'll just be thrilled with the CFO copy I have, it was not meant to be...but ...for me, I'm not wasting my time on that site again...
