How much does the vellum surface add to the realism in your opinion? (It's like Jordan shoes, it's gotta be the shoes). I tried several surfaces but the two that worked best was the vellum surface and the smooth surface. The vellum has the tiniest bits of groove in the paper that catches the colored pencils and adds to more (the slightest) uneven shading (more realistic).
