I just got back from the post office to send it to CGC. Hoping for a 7.0 or 7.5

You didn't notice all that yellow color-touch along the spine?

:tonofbricks:

:P

If you're joking, not cool. If you're being serious. Where do you see something?

Did you check the inside before you shipped it out? I do see some creases that should break color on the spine (near the middle mainly) but they are not breaking color. could be the scan but for me since I'm not familiar with color touch, the best thing to do would be to check the inside cover. I'm not joking. again this is only if i'm trying to see something that may or may not be there. not sure if that last sentence makes sense.

That's the problem with buying "higher priced" books somewhere like at a pawn shop/ thrift store/ or swap meet type setting. Often times, the book's cover will get "improved" and if you're not looking for it, you get burned.

I looked at the inside briefly before sending it out, but just to make sure no pages were cut.

I mentioned in the PGM thread that someone here thought they saw color touch. So we'll see what they have to say.

Luckily, if it does come back a 7.5 restored I'll still be able to sell it for $350 or so.

When I looked again at the scan, I think what he is seeing as color touch is just the discoloration from the foxing.

If this was color touched, you'd think the person would have done something with the overspray.

Now the 4-6 weeks just became less fun.

The deal was originally 8 issues for $25. I brought $30

He pulled them out and I saw he had more Walking Dead comics in his little laptop bag. I asked how much, he said $15. All I saw was #38, I didn't count them or anything, I just ran back to the ATM to get the rest of his money

I've had my eye on these for some years now. I could never find the right deal/price, and they are almost never sold separately. Shipping costs associated to buying them individually was another deterrent. Anyhow, I was quite surprised to find two listed locally within the same week. They are Topps, and my preference is to have a set of OPC, but I did really well on these price wise and they were in great shape.

I'm officially on my way to completing a set of these now (just first movie, Star Wars). They contain 36 unopened wax packs in each and I believe there were a total of 6 in the Star Wars series. These are series 5 (orange) and series 2:

Yeah, it looks like there are only 5 for Topps, and 3 for OPC. I went to look at some dated emails - can't believe I've been looking into these since 2011.

You and me brother. The OPC were the first wax pack's I bought as a kid. I had the complete SW OPC set plus stickers. Sold everything the summer before I started University. Weird thing is that at some point I must have rebought them and just can't recall when because last year I went through some old boxes and found them in a shoe box. Got me thinking about getting the wax boxes all over again.

I busted box after box of these trying to get card #16.

Finally I talked to a kid in school about it who had opened countless packs looking for another card, and he had like a dozen #16's.

I traded him a bunch of cards for five of the ones I needed and completed five full sets.

I also found the Chewbacca and the X-Wing stickers were pretty scarce. At least in my boxes. I only had a couple of each.
