Lots of cool stuff in there.  I've been buying a lot of old pulps and digests over the last few years  I completed Fantasy and Science Fiction up through 2019.  Astounding/Analog is complete from 1951-2018.  I've made serious dents or completed others as well, though there are still gaps.  My most recent purchase was 615 issues of Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine dating back to the second issue.

Not much of a story - it was sitting in the front of a short box at one of the vendors booths - I made a beeline for it and grabbed it (and began furiously looking for #2).  Nothing else of note in his three other boxes (I picked 3 other junkie books just to make it $1 )

The funny part is there was a comic book dealer already in the booth looking around when I got there - I was shocked he didn't see it since it was right in front, plain as day, but didn't ask any questions.

Apparently there are several different versions of this issue - the platinum variant, the platinum error variant and the collector's edition.  That's what I was referring to.  Don't know if there's any kind of marking on the polybag to indicate.

Regular was non poly bagged.

The platinum and error both came in a black poly with silver logo .

You didn't know if you got the error until you opened them. ( The error is so subtle that half the time CGC doesn't catch them, you almost have to have them next to each other to tell the difference. )

here are the two over laid so you can see the subtle differences in shade of the platinum error. 

 

What you have in the white poly bag is the collector's edition that I posted in the other reply, but here is a group shot ( platinum, regular, collector's)

 in addition the other neatest version besides the platinum and error would be one done by Dynamic Forces (prior to CGC SS) with a signature by Jerry Siegel.

I recently had a private garage sale with a longtime collector friend that I haven’t seen in almost 18 months. Needless to say, I was gleeful to add these cool books to my collection!

I've never been able to resist Captain Futures, and titles like The Avenger and Golden Fleece are almost as irresistible.

If you like toy trains, vintage bicycles, erector sets, etc., check out vintage American Boy or the Open Road For Boys magazines - the ads are pure magic.
