i almost shed a tear when Rick and Carl hugged :)

I know, right. Me too.

Knowing what we do about how those two bond later in the series you look back on moments like that and get emotional. I hope you weren't being sarcastic, because I definately got misty.

+1. Those 2 will make the show for me. Great episode. Seems Lori is less of a whore but still a porn star ;)

They played that scene perfectly. It was perfectly directed and paced. All you could think about at that moment was the reunion and you really cared about them. That's good television.

I was being very serious! this scene was totally on point. A very powerful moment in the show so far for me. I definitely got misty.

The fact that Lori got all pissed at Shane because he's the one that told her that Rick was dead was pretty good. I don't remember Ed being a wife smacker in the comic, but of course that happened so long ago that I'm a little fuzzy on it. I did thoroughly enjoy watching Shane lay a beat down on him though. Made him look like less of a pansy.

I'm surprised we saw a hand cut off in season one...thought surely that wouldn't be til season 3.

Shane telling Lori that Rick was dead was a unique twist from the book. It certainly explained away why Lori was being... so free with herself around Shane.

I have been watching TWD and while it is good, I haven't had any emotional connection with it at all. I have not read the books and don't plan to. I want to get an unbiased look at the show. It has it's ups and downs. I have found it a bit over dramatic at times. The pacing is quite fast but suitable for the story. How long do you guys think this show will run? Not knowing the story I am thinking 4 seasons, depending on the amount of episodes per season.

I loved the first episode, the second was good (even with the additions), I didn't care much for some of episode 3, I liked the scene with Rick and Carl but for the most part I did not like it.

Seriously, Glenn with that car, or Rick wanting to go back to Atlanta just for a bag of guns and a radio. I know they tried to explain the whole radio thing but still...

I just wasn't feeling the reunion. I guess the whole scene with Shane and Lori scarred me. Seeing Carl's reaction brought some emotion but I'm just over Lori now after seeing her taking it from behind...

And why didn't he use the hacksaw to cut through the pipe or the cuffs again? Is it because he's a stupid cracka?

That's exactly what they did in the comic. :gossip:

In the comic Rick and Glenn went into the city to find a gun store and get supplies.

What I loved about this version in the TV show was the setup that Morgan will probably be back. Going back for the radio to warn and talk to Morgan totally is consistent with the idea that Morgan will replace Tyreese. This was mentioned waaaaaay back by Kirkman as his original plan for the comic.

I love this idea since I think the guy who played Morgan is a fantastic actor.

rick going back to atlanta makes perfect sense. not only is merle on his mind, but so are morgan and duane. regret, or worry for another innocent human, will definitely make you go back. i would

glenn though was a bit over board, but that's just nitpicking.

I think the series will flow better watching it straight through once all six episodes are done. Like a really long movie.

I know the talk in my LCS after last weeks episode was that people didn't think the plot moved forward enough. One person's quick summary was, "it took them an hour to leave a building." I'm sure that same person is now thinking, "it took them an hour to decide to go back to the building."

I disagreed with him, because I enjoyed the character interactions.

The other thing for people to remember is that the theme of Rick constantly going on missions, while Lori worried and talked to Carl was taken directly from the comic.

this, and of course living in this new world, is what makes carl so strong.
