Nice list. Did you give them your own estimated grade? It would be interesting to see another column with your grade and then compare that to the actual CGC grade.

Nah--I KNOW which books will be ubber grade (nice mental note)--the others I'm shooting for the 9.0-9.4 range--hopefully more 9.4 than 9.2 and 9.0. Basically, I'm superstitous about communicating my hopes---cause they usually get dashed when I do it.

 

Historically, For the books that pass, I'm usually one notch one way or another, so I'm getting better at this.

I have two HOM 290s--one that (I hope) hit 9.4 or better. See, now that I just said it, it won't happen.

This just came in from NeatStuff Coll. What makes this cool for me was that while reading it I found it has a Mark Jewelers insert. First one I ever came across.

very cool. I need an upgrade on that one too. How was neatstuff's grading? So so based on my only purchase from them a few months back.

 

BTW, I think WWT has some of the coolest---and some of the stupidest---covers in the genre.

They are a bit hit or miss but usually very close, the WWT # 50 was graded NM. I would say it is 9.0 slightly rounded corners and a nutsack crease on back.

Thanks Shiver. I only picked up interest in that issue after seeing it on your site as "1st Spear of Destiny" Another interesting thing about this issue, it contains a full lenght story from cover to cover. Are any other issues of WWTs one story issues?

The star stamp is a clue when looking for Mark Jewelers reprints...

Yes I recall reading something about that in a thread on these boards. Something about marked for military sales? I'll have to do a search tomorrow for that.
