The Hot Topic variant mess needs its own thread.

I agree, its no longer heating up, its heating down.

I'm sure it will be heating up once the majority of the books currently on the market have dwindled down more and its confirmed that there isn't anymore books on the way to Hot Topics as they were already destroyed during the recall.

I say two more days and it will be $100 book again.

The price is going down by the hour on eBay with new sellers having multiple single book listings. There is no incentive for buyers to purchase the book right now.

Yesterday There was about 120 listings. Today we are down to 82.

There are bids on $102 book currently.

That book's bids were made before the correction. The last bid on 1/29

They probably should have gone with a BIN but that is easy to say in hindsight.

Yesterday evening there were plenty of copies still closing in the $80-100 range. Definitely off the highs, but still respectable numbers. If the number of listings starts dropping those prices may be mostly sustainable. If nothing else the controversy surrounding this book is going to continue to drive some interest.

If indeed no second print to occur is factual that is reason enough after the destruction of many on an already rather low print run book.

You don't know the print run of this book. You can't even ballpark it. Nor do you have any clue as to how many were destroyed.

The people that were chasing this book after being swept up in the fustercluck already bought their copies. And how many picked it up for a pretty penny just in the hopes of flipping it before the bottom fell out? They'll either staunchly refuse to part with the book for less than what they paid or they'll take what they can get and move on. The buying frenzy on this book is over, unless some actual concrete numbers get put out there in regards to the amount of surviving copies.

The second print wouldn't mean anything regardless, its a second printing of a variant for a book with a hundred of them. Who cares?

More cheer as usual spread by darkstar.

No its truth. Like the time you were exposed for shilling books and then you changed your board username in an attempt to cover it up and confuse people.

You need an actual modern that is heating up that has been discussed very little in the land of the internet? Look at Mortal Kombat X #1.

When the advertised toys come out. Are they having two colored versions of the Hulk toys. One green and the other grey/gray. Is there a color printing error on the ads rather the assumption that all the ads show the gray hulk. Has anyone really looked at the back cover ads of the book(s) and compared them? Something to think about. <a href=Backads_zps6e268c38.jpg' alt='Backads_zp

The print run is 3,000.

You're welcome.

Hot Topic is the US' largest purveyor of mass-market pop culture. They're the sole reason Johnny the Homicidal Maniac #1 has been reprinted 30+ times. They also have more than 700 stores across north america.

Thinking that they did a custom variant for a Star Wars comic book (when they already sell a ton of SW merch in their stores) with a print run that translates out to less than 5 copies pr. store is ridiculous in the extreme.

Thinking they would get more copies of Star Wars than My Little Pony comics doesn't make sense.
