The same is truth about Lara, like the orientation of the line in her arm.

It looks re-drawn to me.  I'm beginning to believe that cover artwork was not allowed to be reused outside the USA, so the authorized "foreign" publishers had to come up with a completely new cover, or just copy the USA version by their own in-house artists.

Cool books!

Interesting, I never though about that possibility. A problem I see is that these differences seems to be a trend, but not an overall rule. Mexico, for instance, seems to have equal art cover, I think.

My favorites, due to the exquisite format and fairly different overall aspect.

Can a fellow boardie with knowledge about comics from the Philippines tell me what I have here? I'm not too familiar with Goodwill Trading reprints, so any information would be much appreciated.

Look no further than these boards.  Lots of good info in this thread, though many of the scans are no longer valid.

Just got these back from CGC

2 UKs and a Canadian.

So... I thought CGCs policy was to now give the name of the US comic & number as the Main title, and then the name and number that's printed on the comic as the secondary "notes".  If that's the case then the Wild Bill should have been #1 to match the US version.  And the When Worlds Collide should have been issue #110 to match the US version.  CGC still has not mastered it's foreign comic labelling

My only graded foreign variant copy. As far as I can tell, this is the only "La Prensa, Mexican Edition" copy of Amazing Spider-Man #40 on the census.

Congrats. La Prensa are very difficult to get. Though I am not from a Spanish speaking country, Novaro shows up from time to time here, but La Prensa nearly never!

Correction. There is another copy on the census, but it is listed under "El Sorprendente Hombre Arana #59". Apparently at some point recently CGC changed how they were labeling these books. Current labeling is like the one I posted here as I just got that book back from grading. Board member Frisco Larson has the other one and it is labeled like this, (see image below). Ironically, both our books are graded at 7.0

Surprised to see this:

Quite surprised to see this. I don't remember ever seeing a pre 2000 Brazilian graded at 9.4 (and only once at 9.2!)

Secret Wars 8 was released twice in Brazil. The one you have posted is the later release, which I could see a 9.4 for. Still impressive though. This is my earlier release Brazilian. The staples are what makes the grades so tough.
