I found a picture in a Heritage past auction where one was in the middle of a group shot.  (If it's Chinese, I apologize in advance.)

Yorick, it's from Hong Kong. From the characters, people deducted that they are from the traditional Chinese Alphabet, used in Hong Kong nowdays.

I just got this huge lot of Turkish-language comics that I’ve been watching on eBay for over 2 years. When it was first listed I asked the seller if he would be willing to just sell me the Wolverine & X-men stuff (typically that’s all I collect) but he was insistent on keeping it all together. Eventually he lowered the price on the lot enough that I was willing to pull the trigger.

Nice to see a Turkish publication from a Italian character

A few more stuff that I got:1615569832_capitao10.thumb.JPG.ec63817fe59dce4d381a06eeb97f1a41.JPG

Abril's Captain America is one of two most sought after super hero collections here in Brazil. Is also one of the two that I care about nowdays. This is definitelly one my favourite covers from the original US series!

The specific issue above isn't a true comic book. It's an activity book with the cover theme. That's because the Ebal publisher didn't have the publishing rights. I am still mesmerized about its condition, as is one of two, perhaps three Brazilian comic books from before 1965 in really good condition that I ever holded in my hands!

Above Seleções Juvenis, number 500! This is also the six with stories from the "Ataque" series (which means strike). This publication was from the "La Selva" publisher, which I think was the fifth biggest publisher from its time. The inner story appears to be from United Kingdom.

The one bellow belongs to what series? I want to know more about it :)

That's front, back and center of Facteur X. I can't find any issue number, so it might be a one-off. It says that it reprints X-men 242. (shrug)

I've got another one like it, also with no issue #. serval.thumb.jpg.9ba0ca58661540789023ee7f83368903.jpg

Not sure what 'version integrale' means in the context of a TBP or an omnibus edition or something else. It kind of implies a one-off. Of course, deciphering stuff like this would be a lot easier if I spoke any French. :insane:

I have a run of “Serval Wolverine” that’s about 60% complete (Semic published 43 issues under this title, then Marvel France/Panini took over the publishing and just called it “Wolverine” under the same numbering). The issue number is actually right above the barcode just before the cover price… this is issue #4. I don’t own any of the Facteur X series but I assume that the issue number is identifiable the same way.

I don’t speak French either, but Google translates “version integrale” to “full version.” Not sure why, but that phrase appears on the cover of every issue of the Semic run. Each issue contains 2 issues of the US comic, for what it’s worth.

Ah. Mystery solved. Thanks very much.

That makes the Facteur X #6.

It must mean that the stories inside aren't cut, or serialized in any way.

That's another fantastic artist that has very few English translations.  Juan Zanotto's art really appeals to me (perhaps it's the half-naked women).  I've been praying for a translation of Barbara for a long time.  I even tried to order a bundle of Lanciostory issues from Italy, but they never arrived.  He did the cover there and the Yor story.

You also have some Arturo Del Castillo (I believe) in that Cobra story.

Here are a couple of Thai language books that I just got…a trade paperback collecting Wolverine: Origin #1-6 and a digest-sized book that collects Giant-Size X-men #1 and (Uncanny) X-men #94-101. Both are in black & white, which looks strange in the Wolverine book given that the art in the original comics had a “painted” look. Also, it’s funny how prominent Gambit is on the cover of the X-men book given that the content inside predates his first appearance by about 15 years.

Got this in the post this morning -

Digest sized and a bit too big for any of my pockets. Maybe a French poche is just larger as standard. (shrug)

I'll bet that's what's been holding me back all these years...:tumbleweed:

Funny, I sold one of this French Batman series (not number one) about about two months ago.

I wouldn't call it Digest thoug, is a bit too big for it.

Here the one I sold:

This early Cockrum stories looks great in black and white, especially with these grey tones.

Got this Lone Ranger together with the books from my last post, but decided to wait a bit to post. I am in love with this. Great original art with a rich orange background. Great condition, despite the two stickers (that basically says that its exempt of a now extinct tax, probably for being a comic book). Two Lone Rangers stories and another from Western. "Deluxe" edition with high quality paper, as all Ebal's that were printed in color. Definitelly one of my favourite acquisitions of this year, despite being an "ordinary" comic. And yes, here Lone Ranger is also Zorro!  :nyah:

A final post for today, cross posting from the ducks thread:

I got this:

350533795_donaldduck42.thumb.JPG.5ce3655a916e1f2e36c0392ccd54d943.JPG

From Netherland, with a great 50's Barks cover. From middle to late 70's

The cover and the inners pages are a bit too flimsy for my taste. Also, Netherland was one of few countries that  used some sort of coated paper in those times. I don't think it is particularly suited for material like this. However, as the print quality was excellent, far above what was normally used in the US at the time, it still looks quite good

Bellow a comparison of it with a 70's US disney stuff:
