Same with the 4.0 Silver-Acre had on eBay. It was below $4K, I asked for back cover scan, and now it is just under $5K. lol

Silver-Acre? He'd take your 5K and then sell it to someone else for 6K, and maybe a third person for $7500.

I asked to see the back cover because this is what the grader's notes said:

Full Bottom Back Cover Marvel Chipping

Left Top Front Cover Small Tear

Left Top Whole Book Stain

Right Top Front Cover Crease Breaks Color

Spine Wear

Staple Multiple Rusted

Here is the reply I got from them:

Hi Ryan , back cover is very clean with no hidden defects , and there is

already the largest size scan of the front available on ebay , you are also

welcome to come and view in person if you like,

Regards

Based on the notes, it does not sound like the back cover is very clean with no hidden defects to me. lol

What would a 4.5 be worth now - $5K?

(thumbs u

I think 5K is a bit stretching it right now. Time to grade my under copy...maybe a 5.0-5.5.

A 4.0 sold for about $4400 and a 4.5 sold for $4500 a little while ago. I think a nice presenting 4.5 would have a shot at $5k with how the book seems to have picked up recently. If not, perhaps a tad bit less IMO. (thumbs u

Depends on how long a while back you meant...it's like less than a few months ago. lol No doubt 4.5 will hit that mark sooner or later. (thumbs u I would like to see a few more strong prices to confirm the next leg up.

Here is my 4.5. I have been debating whether I should press and resub it.

hm

That is a nice looking copy.

.... serials from the 0151********** period can often be resubbed without pressing for a higher grade..... it was a "tough" period. GOD BLESS...
