I read another explanation that believes Elizabeth could create tears due to part of her, her pinky, being in another dimension. Not sure which explanation I prefer. That one, or the one in the above that experiments where done on her. I didn't see anything in the game about her being given powers through expirements, but I also didn't get all the voxophones.
