What's most amusing is that people seem to think it's okay to break rules, laws, etc. as long as you didn't intend to. Quite amusing to say the least.

when i saw UV's list with Dice's team DQ'd i knew there would be trouble, but i expected it to come from them, complaining why they got screwed. never thought that UV would then take a step back and instigate yet another firestorm.

 

it all seems so simple - dice's team messed up. (and i emphasize TEAM because that's what we have going here despite JC's observations to the contrary).

if you're part of a team, you all live or die by your collective actions. sorry to see the innocent suffer, but them's the breaks.........

 

i actually agree with JC's opinion here, just not the continual bombardment.

 

and cudos to whomever came up with the idea of this being part of someone's master thesis - that is just too rich!!!!! this plays like a scene from a bad comedy (or maybe a great one?!?!?).......... devil.gif

Well, you are assuming the grade is a 9.0 and there will even be a penalty.

 

So you are saying that we should be penalized regardless... especially since we didn't know that a grade hadn't been submitted?

 

Like those folks in round 2 that were warned for being late and knew they'd get disqualified for not providing a grade?

 

Unlike OldGuy and Zipper, I'm not about to let this drop.

 

While I agree that the rules have been too fluid, I also don't like being the one who has the honor of catching the enforcement crackdown (since that is usually where I end up being... getting kind of tired of it, don't ya know....)

Despite what you might think OG, I was not baiting zipper. He responded to my post. I never said you guys cheated and never thought you guys would. I do find it odd that DiceX would wait to submit a grade after your team came to a consensus.

 

So far there have been two occasions where the rules have been "broken". In both instances the rule violators are quick to dismiss the vioaltion and quell the dissention. The problem is that this doesn't solve anything it only soothes the current problem. What happens when this happens again? We go throught the same thing. That's why there are rules in place, for just this problem, which needs to be addressed for future occurances.

Why did Red post a grade, get a slap on the wrist, and then UV dictated that if ANYONE ELSE does it, they get an automatic -1 point deduction?

 

For an experiment, try posting a grade in the next Contest Thread, and if you get a -1, then whine that Red got away with it the first time. thumbsup2.gif

I have just read through all of the posts and here is what i have to say.

 

Nikos will be posting the grade of the books soon.

 

To stop all of this DiceX's team can only get 0.5 points for a spot on grade nothing else.

 

JC stop whining and complaining about every little thing, it is a frickin' game. 893frustrated.gif

 

Not only are you playing for free but you might win free prizes, it is a win-win situation.

 

Next time you can make a grading contest and we will see how you do things, you 893censored-thumb.gif insufficiently_thoughtful_person.
