Okajima pedigree

Was looking around eBay for something else, and stumbled across this listing:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sensation-Comics-25-1944-DC-Harry-G-Peter-Cover-Okajima-pedigree-/322311970372?hash=item4b0b4a5e44:g:QxUAAOSwMVdYFmFe

Sensation #25 isn't on the list yet, right? It has the "Okajima" -script, but no date...looks like a "2" code written just below "No. 25".

Legit, or suspicious? hm

I don't think "like new condition" means what he thinks it means. :D

And when did bug chews become "typical" on GA books? hm

Since I didn't pay nearly as much for a 7.5 #30 a month ago, I'd say even if it's real, the price is a trifle optimistic.

Any boarders win the all American okajima? I was the narrow underbidder

Well, I was going to wait until I had the book in hand to post but since you asked, I was the highest bidder.

Glad it went to a boardie!

I've traded a few messages with the owner, who has a few other Okajimas listed on eBay, seems likely legit, partially since it's a 1943 book, and those books (from before 44) were inconsistently marked... I'll post some notes on them when I'm back home...

Too bad that he, or whoever he got the books from, didn't do a better job of storing them. I can't recall seeing any other Okajimas with bug damage.

I wonder if that one is from the same group?

the early books definitely had more lower/mid grade books in the mix...

some of that was probably due to storage at the time of purchase, and some was due to where they were in the stacks.

The collection was basicly bricked together in stacks, and then wrapped in newspaper.

The more tightly wrapped bricks stayed better preserved/protected.. the ones more losely wrapped, or that were at the bottom of the stacks of bricks took more hits to condition...
