Ohh wow that was awesome! I can't remember a show I was this looking foward to since I was a much younger man!

I know everybody wants to say bad things about Rogan, but he genuinely loves this like any of us who grew up with it. I think it's in safe hands. Everything I've seen looks fantastic and I especially can't wait to see Cassidy!

I love his comedy, but here's to hoping he's an executive producer who's used his current pull in Hollywood to get this finally made, but has no intention on being in it, or following my earlier list.

That is EXACTLY the role that Rogen has.

He used his clout to bring Preacher to AMC.

Sam Caitlin is the * show runner*....not Rogen.Caitlin was the show runner on Breaking Bad.

In other words, Preacher will have a similiar tone to Breaking Bad.

Rogen has absolutely no role in Preacher, other than actung as an executive producer.Sam Caitlin is also an executive producer, Caitlin makes all of the creative decisions.

Rogen will not be working on the show as a writer or as a director.

This is not conjecture on my part. The credits on IMDB.com,AMC.com....and everywhere else you look...in interviews with Rogen & Caitlin.....his role in Preacher has been made clear.

Rogen is playing the exact same part in The Boys.

An executive producer, nothing more. All he is doing in bith shows is *getting* them to be adapted onto TV.

That looks like an homage to Preacher 16. Right down to the yellow lighting on the left side and the background colors.

Yup, it is.

AMC released another homage to the cover of Preacher #3.

Cassidy with a creepy smile.

Not sure if this has been posted yet but I thought it was pretty nifty.

Tom Cruise makes a small cameo in the first episode as a Scientology preacher, says a few lines...and then his head violently explodes:

I had posted it a while back. But there has been so much news lately, the content was buried rather quickly.

This is the second article now that has referenced this scene.

PREACHER Pilot Features Tom Cruise... Exploding

"In the pilot, a mysterious force from outer space is possessing preachers around the world – then graphically exploding them from the inside out. Midway through the episode, there’s a news report that shows Cruise speaking in front of a Church of Scientology audience, and then likewise blowing up."

hm

Entertainment Weekly is mentioning it as well.

AMC's Preacher pilot wins over SXSW audience

Another throwaway gag made buzz in particular by depicting the death of Tom Cruise. In the pilot, a mysterious force from outer space is possessing preachers around the world – then graphically exploding them from the inside out. Midway through the episode, there’s a news report that shows Cruise speaking in front of a Church of Scientology audience, and then likewise blowing up.

Asked if anybody at AMC objected to the gag, Goldberg replied, “It’s amazing, no one said anything! We kept waiting for somebody to say no and now it’s too late.”

“I will run into [Cruise] one day, though. That will happen,” Rogen predicted. “And I’ll have to explain that. I’ll have to come up with a way in my head to make it seem complimentary but I haven’t done it yet.”

It's not actually Tom Cruise. But it sure will be a depiction of him.

Should I sell my Preacher now or shoot myself after lol

My crystal ball may or may not be a mystical item, capable of producing images of speculators cashing in and doing lines off of a hot 21 year old escorts' bewbs or hanging themselves in fleabag motels.

However, I did travel to the murky depths of Asia to obtain it from an odd man, with a sagely aura.

Sadly, I lack the ability to wield any mystical properties it may or may not convey.
