You'll have to imagine part of my gift, because I forgot to take it out of the box before I took this picture

 

But inside the Batmite/Mxyzptlk box is a figurine of the two of them duking it out. It also came with a cool booklet that gives an overview of the character histories for both.

 

Oh, and this Strange Tales #134 also contains the little known third appearance of my favorite super villain, Kang the Conqueror!

I can't thank my Secret Santa enough for the incredibly thoughtful and creative set of gifts!

 

First, this is what the gifts looked like before being unwrapped...

 

 

 

 

 

 

I was blown away by the wrapping paper so I had to open each one carefully so I could save it. I think this is my absolute favorite wrapping paper ever!

I'm speechless by how thoughtful this was and what I thought was very ironic was that Charlie (Miraclemet) inspired me to start a journal on a themed collection and now he just added some fantastic books to that theme!

 

The historical GA books look great but in all honesty, I'm REALLY looking forward to reading Kavalier & Clay!

I couldn't resist any longer and opened up my gifts. In fact, I ripped into them so quickly that I forgot to take pics of everything all wrapped up in the cool spidey paper.

 

I got some really great stuff including an item that I specifically suggested but didn't think there was much chance of getting, something that's been on my personal "want list" for a very long time.

 

The Matt Groening figure by Kid Robot...

 

 

 

Matt is the creator of The Simpsons and I am a huge fan. Even the box is awesome and the figure looks even cooler in person. It's much larger than other Kid Robot figures I've seen and also came with a sketch pad and pencil to insert into the hands! I have a special place on my shelf for it, just below my Matt Groening sketch, right next to my Kevin Eastman & Stan Lee figures.

 

Also included was a sweet Bat Signal ornament that lights up and a Darth Vader candy dispenser. I pressed the button on Darth's chest for a piece and much to my surprise (and enjoyment) he also has sound effects!

 

 

 

A huge thanks goes out to my Secret Santa! You did an outstanding job but I didn't notice a name inside the box so please let me know who you are so I can thank you personally.
