Two more Avon Fantasy readers just arrived. I had ordered 3 books from the same seller, but one was out of stock. I remedied that by ordering 2 more from another seller, but am still awaiting their arrival.

If people here are trying to make me worried that I won't finish my Avon Fantasy Reader run before prices go crazy if I don't do it now... congratulations, you've succeeded.     The remaining holes are on order.

On another note of series we both collect - I finally found a nice copy of the Bantam 1st of "Drawn and Quartered", so I am at the endgame for Addams vintage pbs. I only need "Monster Rally" to complete the set

No pressure, that's a relief.    I should probably be targeting higher grade copies, but for these I am relatively content with reader copies. Issue #6 has a awesome lineup of authors with stories by A. Merritt, Edmond Hamilton, HP Lovecraft, and Jack Williamson.

Issue #10 is no slouch either, with stories by Howard, Wollheim and Lovecraft among others.

These L.B. Cole Croydon mysterys are the kind of thing I'd pay the freight to complete but they just never turn up anymore, anywhere  so I'll just plod along filling the holes once a year or so and sharing with you, my friends. The black covers are in great shape for these and the pages are blazing white

Nice find, SA!  Likewise, I've been working on those for a long time.  Very tough to find in decent shape and yours looks pretty sweet!

Good one!  I'm a big LB Cole collector and haven't found this one yet - although I have a bunch.  Good for you!  Shh.... don't tell anyone that these exist.....

It's ok... and I sub to that thread too and saw that.  At least I have like 15 of his pulp covers already.

If you have 15, you can't be missing many. I think he only did the Croydon mysteries and romances, the 2 Stork Novels, the 2 Love Romances, and the couple of little Crime pamphlets? Of course they are all rare but let us know if we're missing any

There are a ton out there that doesn't have his sig on them, you can tell by the style. I've been holding on to this info, but you asked so here you go. This is what I have. Notice the bird book, he is credited in the book.

Can anyone pinpoint what the first flying saucer illustrated depiction would be?  There are so many illustrations of space craft but I'm curious to seeing an image of the classic flying saucer ufo that would become a staple of society especially after the Roswell incident in 1947.
