I'm glad we're near the top of a page, because I've got quite a few books to share today.  I'll start with this pair, which I couldn't resist tracking down after finding the third book:

From here on, all of today's books are courtesy our own wonderful @Surfing Alien, who I cannot thank enough for letting me buy these off him!

We'll start with a fun Robert E. Howard collection from the 80's and a PKD first edition.  I've got the SFBC version that matches this already, but the collector impulse always wants the true firsts, doesn't it?  I think I'm down to only needing three of the PKD paperback originals.

Now we move onto John D. MacDonald.  We'll start with his 2nd, 3rd, and 4th books.  Murder for the Bride is a 3rd print, the 1st is insanely hard to find and the 3rd has a much better cover than the 2nd.  Planet of the Dreamers is the 1st paperback edition, it's more commonly published as Wine of the Dreamers.  And Judge Me Not is a 1st.

Continuing with JDM, Area of Suspicion and Cry Hard, Cry Fast are firsts, Soft Touch is a 2nd.

And I'll end with another double.  I want to highlight the weird title on this one, it looks like they changed the name of one half of the book last second.  I've never seen a while spine on a D-series double like this before:

I wonder why it was only years later when the second part of this trilogy ("The Tortured Planet") was published by Avon. Could be that it was too long and Lewis initially did not want to abridge it?

Pretty sure I've shown this before, but closing in on my PKD paperback collection makes me want to show it again.  It's NOT a paperback original, it reprints the hardcover.  But it's probably worth more than any 10 or so of my PKD originals put together.  A very generous gift from a co-worker who had bought it new off the shelf and knew I would appreciate it more than he ever did:

Early Bradbury's tended to get well read so finding high quality copies is a challenge. This one has some spine roll but is very sharp. Has the interior illustrations by Joe Mugnaini from the hardcover first but the cover art by Charles Binger, is far superior imo.

As @Randall Dowling pointed out in his sales thread, Ace Burroughs books and Frazetta's in general, seem pretty common, and mostly are, except if you're looking for sharp high grade copies. 

Based on requests in my own sales thread and pm's I think it's probably a smart move to pick up high grades whenever they're available.

Here's a few recent snags. They're mostly later prints but look so sweet and not growing on trees in this condition either.

Show was quite bust, so I did not get to do much shopping. I did pick up a few cool items that will be at Windy city.

overall, it was nice to see younger people buying paperbacks, Pulps and Digests, even paying real money for them.

I passed this year. Trying very hard to not get back into paperbacks again. My focus is mainly comics and pulps. Not a whole lot there as a rule and my 2 favorite dealers wern’t going to be there.

So I opted to hit the flea market close to home. A lot of my competitors were probably at the PB show. Good decision. I hit this seller. I simply love it when they are priced “each”. Some of these were pretty nice shape.
