The Heritage 8.5 has the 12 Cent Price Variant status on the Verification record and on the slab label. Your 9.2 has neither, so will likely appear on the census as a 'standard edition'. BuscemasAvengers
@CGC Mike Is there any way a label correction can be expediated by you re. the Love Romances 97? (see my and @Get Marwood & I's posts starting on page 296 in this thread). I tried the new text support number but there was no reply.

I believe it can be sent back in as a ME, as you are still in the 14 day window of receiving it. You would need to create a submission form by selecting the mechanical error option. Unfortunately, the system will not provide a prepaid shipping label for international customers. One will need to be sent to you via e-mail. Send me the packing slip number, the original invoice number for the submission you just got back from us, Your full mailing address, and your e-mail address. I will try to get you a prepaid shipping label on Monday. Be sure to write the problem on the packing slip, and write ME on the outside of the box multiple times. Popular Post BOOT
"Why collect romance comics?" It's nice to find issues you have never seen before. Enchanting Love #5 from Kirby Publishing, May, 1950. And discover hidden gems inside, like art by Bruno "Doom Patrol" Premiani. And a previously uncataloged story by "Ghastly" Graham Ingels. I had sent this in as the '12 cent variant' cover, but it was left off the label. https://comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/miscellaneous/love-romances-97-12-cent-price-variant-atlas-1962-cgc-vf-85-white-pages/a/122325-15762.s?ic4=OtherResults-SampleItem-071515&tab=ArchiveSearchResults-012417 Book has been received by CGC, but I received an email from Customer Support with the following highlights: CGC identifies the other version as the variant, so the label is correct. The initial print run was the version with 10 cents covered with a black circle. Marvel changed it to the regular 12-cent circle. As the black circle came first, we consider the regular 12-cent cover to be the variant. I replied back with a link to the Heritage June sale of the 8.5, which clearly identifies it as a '12 cent variant' copy, and it appears to be the same copy I have. But, while the label would have been nice - collectors know what's what. BuscemasAvengers and Get Marwood & I

Not defending anyone’s opinion but if you separate rarity from the mix I at least understand the logic they are going with which simply is whatever is first published is the original and anything else is a variant. As collectors we always associate any variant as being whichever copy is rarer not when it’s published. I’ve also heard some collectors call these first and second prints which is also incorrect since the change occurred during the same print run when Martin decided the change to 12 cents needed to happen “now”. As mentioned it won’t hurt the books value I’d think because everyone who goes after these Marvel variants knows which one is rarer. I’m just impressed you got such a beautiful book at 9.2 with white pages. That condition for a romance book is far more impressive to me than a Fantastic Four #2 or #3 which were out at the same time. Congratulations… BuscemasAvengers
N e r V
I don’t have all my black circle copies to check on but if memory serves the first black circle copies list cover price at 10 cents in the indicia but the latter 12 cents covers list it as 12 cents in the indicia? Popular Post Darwination
I'm pretty sure I don't roll with everybody on the high grade comics here but you take what you can find in many romance titles. I'm gathering so few of many issues get put in slabs because it's only worth it for the higher grades? Ideal Romance 005 (1954-08.Key) cover Bernard Baily I'd love to come across ANY copy of issue 6 of this series.
