Baily's romance work was done for publisher Stanley Morse (Stanmor), which published the titles Daring Love (of which we are all familiar), Diary Confessions, Ideal Romance, Radiant Love, and Tender Romance. In 1943, Baily founded the publishing company Baily Publications and, with artist Mac Raboy, the comics packager Bernard Baily Studio. Among the fledgling artists gaining a foothold in the industry at Baily's studio were Gil Kane, Carmine Infantino, and Frank Frazetta, who at 16 assisted the established artist John Giunta there. Stanmor was among a small and select (to romance collectors) group of publishers who published under 20 issues during the romance bonanza of the late 40's and early 50's. They're listed below. if you're looking for a collecting challenge, focus in on any of these and try to complete their run. Or, if you want to go in the other direction, there's trying to complete the largest run of any romance publisher - Charlton, at 1227 issues. Who, btw, was also the longest running romance publisher - from March '51 to June '83, which marked the end of romance. These were two of the ones I was most interested in. I just got them back from CGC today and am pretty happy with how they turned out.
