"Captain Marvel Jr." comic sighting at the 0:20 second point of this trailer for the new Elvis biopic co-starring Tom Hanks:

Not only is the cover of Captain Marvel Jr #2 prominently featured in the movie, Captain Marvel Jr is central to the movie as it is referenced throughout as a huge influence on the life of Elvis. There is more than just the one screen shot which features the comic, there are several scenes which talks about how Captain Marvel Jr impacted Elvis. Has there been any other movie made where a comic book character was so important to the main real life character of the movie?

Cover in all it's glory!

Thanks to @Get Marwood & I for pointing me to this thread:

1) Car 54 Where Are You?  Dell Comic.  Oct 1962 / Featured in Peter Sellers comedy The Wrong Arm of the Law

I suspect this was an insert for US audiences of the British film. More info at http://superstuff73.blogspot.com/2022/08/comics-placement-in-movies-wrong-arm-of.html

3)Take a look at this video from December 16th 1969, courtesy of BBC Archive. It's a clip from BBC Science magazine program Tomorrow's World featuring James Burke. Freeze the video around the 40-second mark and look at the new comics in the rack on the wall.  Takes you back, eh? I can make out both an ATOM and Captain Marvel.

Last weeks Riverdale  was loaded  with comic books,  Really  this entire Final year/retroboot  is loaded with them.  From what I can tell  all of the characters  have a comicbook eel to their images.  Just look at Archies  skin and hair
