I thought the art for VOH 41 (and maybe the other issue too) was done in the 70s.

Craig even drew the host portraits. They aren't the cut and paste often seen in other original art.

With 10 cent cover prices and no room for a CCA stamp?  Not hardly.  The only EC publication to survive after 1955 was Mad Magazine.

No, not published. But no OO existed for VOH 41. Craig created this cover as a commission or something in the 70s.

Recent pick up a Land of the lost book with dust cover, published in 1945. Same writer and artist of the Land of the Lost title by EC.

An amazing find Hap! Only other one I have ever seen was Grant’s copy. And to further rub it in, he has the Land of the Lost pinback button from the radio show!

I don’t have any complete runs of EC titles yet (not even Incredible Science Fiction!) but I keep plugging along. With this recent pickup I crossed over the 50% line of my goal to complete a HG run of WF. I now have 12 of the 22 issues

Well Im pretty excited! I sold my modern collection of about 3 long boxes and some McFarlane figures to a dealer/friend and I thought I did pretty well on price. So I dedicated all of it on EC books...what else is there to collect?

Ive been wanting the TFTC 40 (split and detached) and 45 for awhile, Upgraded my VOH 24 and got and VOH 16! And a few other PCH and crime that were not EC.

Great score! You might remember my outspoken love of Crypt 40, but I'm especially taken with the Vault 16. The early books, with their still-evolving cover elements, always catch my eye.

I don't know if these have been posted in this thread, but yesterday I found four of these giant-sized Russ Cochran EC portfolio books from the early 1970s. Included are very nicely done reprints of stories from the vault and some cool acknowledgements to EC.

I really do enjoy all sorts of comics.  But I think, in a very real way, that nothing brings me quite as much joy as adding New Trend EC's to my collection.  They are truly something special.

Admittedly, I think everybody who regularly reads this thread knows that already.  But it bears repeating sometimes.

Back in 1973, Gary Arlington, super EC Fanatic, underground comix publisher, and owner of the San Francisco Comic Book Company, started the Nickel Library project, hoping to publish homage covers devoted to EC Comics.  He enthusiastically planned 500 pages at a nickel a page.  After 64 pages, Bill Gaines, who owned the rights, threatened to sue Gary for $50k.

MANY years ago I bought a nice copy from one of @Moondog’s first EBay auctions for around $1,200. It was probably the most I ever spent on a comic up until then. A few seconds after the auction closed, I wondered what I had done…

Still have it. One of my top 5 favorite books.
