So if no one claims the offer the person gets a strike and it reverts back to he offer they took.

This happens in 24 hours, correct?

I'd say, according to the rules, it happens in three days. And then someone else (anyone) posts a new offer to start the thread back up.

[9](a) 3 day window to have an offer claimed. If your offer is not claimed in 3 days, a strike will be given.

(b)Time starts when you take something.

[11] If an offer is not claimed, anyone is free to post an offer to jump start the thread.

Current offer (better pics)

The more I look at them the better they appear I think they would grade 9.4 with off white pages

Awesome thread. :cloud9:

Having read through this I have an additional thought on a possible addition to the rules. In the interest of keeping the game moving along. If a person lists and offer and it has sat unclaimed for 24 hours, that person would be required to add to it or list another offer. After that it would be up to the discretion of the person making the offer to add to it or not, risking a possible strike if the offer and revised offer(s) go unclaimed.

I'm trying to leave that choice up to the person making the offer. They're giving something they choose is a "generous" offer. They can decide how they want to control their time on the clock, you know. They have three days. They can leave one offer up and not change it up for two days and 23 hours if they wished. The longer a stale offer is left up, the less time they have to change it up and have their offer taken.

Yes, ideally someone would continue to try to mix up their offers and WANT someone to take it. But not everyone can be on the Boards as often as they'd like. I just want the person offering to have discretion of what to do with their offer. (thumbs u

That makes sense, :headbang: the rules were well thought out in the first place, and have had only minor tweaking. My thought was that if the person making the new offer had a bit of extra pressure to upgrade the offer, it might help prompt a better offer in the first place, thus avoiding the need for revision.

I still think it is odd that someone gets to keep their item even if no one claims theirs. It would allow someone to get a couple of big ticket items without giving anything in return before they get kicked out..

Even tho they'd only get one strike, it would probably get them a veto right away the next time they claim something. So they'd be out of the thread pretty quick...

:news: :news: :news: RULES UPDATED :news: :news: :news:

Please note Rule 8(b) as an exception to the one :takeit: per month.

Exception: After 48 hours of an offer being posted, anyone is free to claim it and offer up an item.

Loophole. Does the "anyone" specified in rule 8(b) supersede the "you" in 10(a)? :baiting:

Well then, the person whose item they claimed should have vetoed their offer then, right? :baiting:

We discussed this already. It's somewhere in the thread. (thumbs u

I understand that. I have just seen certain people work they system too many times. Think of the awesome offers that have been given so far. There are several people I can think of that would gladly take that first strike and never come back to get a sweet item.

In any case, I am not suggesting a rule change or anything. I just hope no one squeeks by that is all. Besides, Swick has been getting hourly pm suggestions from people so I am not suggesting anything. lol

No, the court has ruled that 10(a) would not supersede 8(b) because in order to do 8 you would have to do 10....or was that the other way around? I am sooo lost.

48 hours after Ducky posted his first offer, anyone can claim his offer.

If his offer is unclaimed after 72 hours of claiming WebSlinger's offering, Ducky will get a strike.

At the point the thread will stall until someoneHector posts a free offering to restart the thread.

There is no reverting back to a previous offer.

Fixed that for you

You're asking does "anyone" include members who are banned from participating in the thread? (:

We could make this like Mad Max and have factions that create their own giving threads each with unique rules and appealing to cliques within the forum. All Out War.

hm

I'm debating starting a pure mystery box thread
