STAR WARS : The Force Awakens Dec, 18, 2015

Got to hand it to Disney. They know how to market this movie, every where I turn there is something Star Wars being advertised. I think I even saw star wars themed toilet paper at the store yesterday.

I saw Star Wars soup cans at the grocery store today lol

I'm actually enjoying a bowl of chicken with star-shaped midichlorians right now!

The branding works though. I had to choose between two coffee liquid creamers. One was a normal brand and the other brand had a bottle designed like R2D2 for the same price. It goes without saying that R2 is in my fridge now.

I found someone who has seen the film

he says:

It was as awesome as Star Wars gets. It wasn't as good as the original movies, but it comes damn near close.

Weak central villain. How Kylo Ren is handled is most unfortunate. Don't ramp up your expectations to the max for this guy. Other than his crossblade lightsaber, I didn't find much else memorable about Kylo. More in the comments if asked. Kylo Ren was probably the weakest link in the film, IMO.

Not much in terms of plot. It's complex on paper, but not at all on screen. Some might find this to their liking, though, as the plot was as simple as those in the original trilogy.

C-3PO and R2-D2 are barely in the film. It's kind of sad since these guys were pretty prominent in the original trilogy, why they were so utterly underused here baffles me a little.

Jar Jar Binks is not killed on-screen, nor is his corpse shown. Yet another lie by J.J. Yes Jar Jar appears in the damn film. Just a cameo but still (/s)

You are behind the 8-ball on this. lol

I know 4 people who saw it weeks ago hence I am telling you all again.

2nd best star wars film of all time.

Expectations are meet 110%.

Did you really think Lucas was involved? :baiting:

Can't wait for the Rotten Tomatoes reviews. I hate to admit it,but they usually are spot on when it comes to movies.

Yep -- even at a Arizona Cardinals football game --- Darth Cardinal

I thought that was Howard the Duck.

I haven't been this excited for a movie in a long time.

+1

I was pretty excited for the 2nd Avengers. While I enjoyed that movie, it didn't deliver like I thought it would.

I'm pretty confident this is going to be incredible!

+1

I guess the reviews won't start coming out until the 16th. The buzz from the Premier sounds promising. There will be critics who hate this just on principle, but my bet is it will be the next best thing to the original. All they have to do is make an entertaining film with the same spirit as the first ones and not make any major casting mistakes.
