BB-Gun
How 'bout some Comic bound volumes? The Wings set I got from George Tuska and he signed it inside the front cover. It is #1-12. The Disney set is a two volume set of all the Donald Duck Barks one shots. Also got Scrooge 1-40 in two volumes from a local guy that bought them from Cherokee and had them bound. The 9 has a $6. pencil price inside the cover! I love bound volumes! Are those the Paul Terry Mighty Mouse issues? I like the Robot Cover on issue 38. Oddly enough your bound volume is probably equivalent to the 384 page Mighty Mouse giant issue in red. I think it contains MM 42 and 43 plus a few others. Moondog
Hi Gary: Yeah, that is one of my favorite top 5 books reguardless of value. I was going thru a bad time but HAD to have it. It's in my collection for good. I've had several PMs wanting to buy it but it ain't going nowhere. I hate regrets in selling stuff. I sold a Great Comics #3 years ago and have regretted it ever since. I sold my Supe #1 and a bunch of heavy books years ago but it was to buy a house so not real sad. Besides, you can get a Supe #1 but not a book like this with the contents it has. Side note, I had it signed at bottom the the first page by Al Feldstein a couple years ago. I guess you guys might call that defaced but I love it everytime I open it! Defacing a cover with a huge, sloppy Sharpie autograph is not something I would ever do. But I think a classy signature in black or blue ink on the inside splash is gold. (thumbs u

Sqeggs
Bob, here's a bit more of the nostalgic stuff I've amassed. This is a real gem! If you like Disney's version of Jules Verne's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea this is the real star of the film... A whale of a tale! Was this a prop used in the film? Robot Man
Oh Man, Cat that is breathtaking! Everything is larger in TX! My wife would probably tell me to put it in the garage. Just kidding she is very supportative. I have a small maybe 10" tin wind-up from England Natiluas toy I was going to put up but maybe just I will substitute something else. Keep 'em coming and if any of the rest of you folks wanna put some stuff here feel free! Bob, here's a bit more of the nostalgic stuff I've amassed. This is a real gem! Robot Man
Yes, this is 1/2 of the Mighty Mouse Giants. I have since picked up the other volume from the same guy that has the other 1/2. So now, I got all the giants in 2 volumes. Robot Man
I got several PM's to put these books here. They are from a wonderful collection dubbed the "Paul" collection that surfaced out in my area. I originally posted them in the Have a Cigar thread. If you go back a few pages in that thread you can read the back story. For those of you who saw it move on there's nothing to see, for those of you who haven't, enjoy! (Spoiler: There are a few more here that wern't in the other thread)
Tri-Color Brian
Wait a darn minute here...that Green Lantern 38 looks familiar. Were you selling books at Terry's show last year and I bought a low grade Baker book from you? The guy I bought it from had one of those GLs and said "This one is for ME". Robot Man
Yeah, guilty as charged. Oh, I remember you... You were that whiney, guide waving Baker collector! Best deal you ever got on a Baker romance book! You also scored that cool My Romantic Adventures. Hi Brian, I think we had fun. Stop by and say Hi if you go. I promise not to bring any books that aren't for sale. JoJo will stay home in his nice warm box. And don't blow my cover. And yeah, that Green Lantern is STILL mine thank you! Tri-Color Brian
I even wrote on the back of that Pictorial Romance's bag that it was from Bob____! You almost gave that book away...but it WAS pretty low grade...Yeah, scored the Rom Adv 49 for $25 also...and a Wartime Romances 17 (my grail) and Cinderella Love 15 (both from a fellow boardie that met me at the show. I also bought a bunch of very inexpensive early Jimmy Olson's and Lois Lane's from the toy dealer (I think it was him, can't remember his name right now)..it was a good show. History may not repeat itself, but we'll still have fun this year.... (thumbs u PS-I never bring a guide to a show, cause every dealer has one that I can wave in their faces... Bring the JOJO...I've got $50 burning a hole in my pocket that you can have... That's $50...50 Big Ones...50 smackaroos...50 dineros...500 dimes...5000 pennies... The-Collector
JoJo... Welcome to the boards. The Superman 23 and 17 in my Sig Line below came from Cherokee in 1966. Nice to have another old-timer on here. See you at Terry's show on the 25th...Bring the JoJo... Hmm for a 50 year junk obsession I do not see any junk. Some very cool stuff there. Love the Voodoo Annual, Fight 40 and Harvey Comics Library 1. Welcome to the boards and may it be a long stint.
BB-Gun
I believe we are looking for a colossal squid which is the largest member of the mollusk family. Disney probably made it even more gigantic. Edited January 9, 2015 by BB-Gun
Weird Paper
Keep 'em coming and if any of the rest of you folks wanna put some stuff here feel free! Don't have to ask me twice. (Not that you asked me once ) My comic collecting focus has completely shifted from comics to original art, but I still got me toys and oddball character collectibles. Robot Man
Hi Weird Paper, welcome to the party! Now that's what I'm talking about! Great stuff. Your Buck Rogers ship puts mine to shame but hey, I got one. I love the boxed toys. Sooo hard to find the boxes. I got a lot of that stuff but a lot I don't have either. Nice mix. I have very little original art. Just a few pieces I've managed to luck into over the years. I remeber a comic shop by me had probably 30 framed Jack Kirby covers up on their walls for $150. each I stupidly didn't buy any... This was back in the late '70's. Keep 'em coming and if any of the rest of you folks wanna put some stuff here feel free! Don't have to ask me twice. originalisbest
The Tales of Terror annual is annother one I want "put in the box" when I go. It's a pretty nice copy that I got from Moondog when he first got on ebay. Probably the most I ever spent for a comic up to that time. I laugh at the price now but then it was a lot of money for me.What make it even more special it has Crypt #20 (#1), VOH #12 (#1), HOF #15 (#1) and WS #13 (#2) contents! I will try and take a better shot of it next time I have it in hand. It's a pretty amazing copy of a very rare piece! You're right to want to keep it. Robot Man
Found a few more things in my photobucket that might be of interest: First up is a 1920's German Distler Wind-up Coupe with working headlights: Next is just a little newer. Cragstan, Japan 1959 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner removable hard top, battery operated, car with original box. Early "remote control" car. Goes forward and back and steers. Also has a feature where the top opens and closes. I have since sold this red one but kept the blue one that I got at the same time. Any Yankee Baseball fans? Here is a scarce Roger Maris nodder from 1961. The year he broke the Bambino's record. How about an unknown 1950's Pulp Magazine original art photo. Got it from Terry Stroud years ago. Love the "bullet bra" on the dame and the guy's fake bloodstain! Picked this up for my wife who likes dolls. I like the radio advertising. So we are both happy. It's a die-cut store stand up counter piece from the late 1940's Bought this at the Brimfield MA flea market (google this show, it is amazing). Anyway, was there with a friend and this guy pulls in with a truck of old store stock from a general store. I got this and a tin Roy Rogers Marx horsetruck in the box. What blew me away was when I tried to open this it wouldn't open. My friend then exclaims "Dude, it's still stapled shut!". I got it home and wanted to open it soooo bad but re-considered. It's one of the rarest Marx playsets. Maybe the only one left sealed? It bugged me so bad, I finally sold it on ebay for a pile of money (which is long ago spent...) Last one for today. 1939 Art Deco Marx train set (complete and working): I believe my bucket has run dry so I will re-load it this weekend.
