Descender #1 Image Comics March 2015

470 posts in this topic

500 for ECCC Image Booth is the correct #

Probably makes it the toughest book as they are all dispersed over a weekend or less.

Just my opinion

That combined with the fact that the black and whites are variants of variants. There are 2000 total copies of each of those cover images out there (with 500 being b&w) while there's only 500 total books featuring the Murphy image.

I am sure everyone noticed that 2nd printing of Descender #1 came out today, they used the same cover as the first issue (cover A) but a slightly different color and has the "Second Printing" marker right on the cover.

Unrelated, Non-Player #1 (3rd Print) came out today, first printing #1 came out about 3 years ago, issue #2 comes out in June, amazing art in that book.

next week is issue 2, yo!

Will this story develop into something good?

Will it turn flop?

WE WILL FIND OUT IN A FEW DAYS!

I guess it depends - what type of 'flop' do you mean? As in, we can't sell our extra copies for more than cover, the quality of the book plummets, or people simply stop buying the book period?

I've yet to read a Lemire book where the quality was an issue, I think the closet I've come there was Trillium, and even so, that was still good, but it did seem oddly derivative of The Fountain as I read it.

As for the other two types, there are just too many covers for the first issue of this book, so I don't think it'll blow up big, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it simmer and to see some of you guys clean up on it a few times as it randomly spikes up and down over the next few months!

If you think there were too many covers of #1 (which I would have to disagree), wait until you see how many covers there will be to Archie #1, which is listed in the new Previews catalog for June shipping. Now THAT title has far too many #1 cover variants.
