Might as well start the thread now .....

For those attending the big show this year, it would be greatly appreciated if you can find time to summarize what you saw or better yet, share some pics.

Thanks.

Cheers!

Not a report per se, but more of a... well it's really big.

This got announced by Sal on social media yesterday. It was making the rounds. Pretty kooky!

The Ross set up looks pretty amazing.

It looks good but I'm not sure what to think about it. If its to sell originals I'm left thinking its expensive, over the top, and just adding to overhead and prices.

If its to promote his brand its just a business expense he feels is worthwhile, I suppose.

Edit: reading is fundamental, I tuned out before getting to the end of the link. It implies a lesser focus on selling originals and more focus on prints and artbooks and such.

I hope they don't crash through any original Alex Ross art or they just might find themselves sued under the legal doctrine of 'thee who hath broke it hath bought it'.

If they are really serious about wanting to get people to their booth, they need to set up a Poke Stop there.

That's a very, very bad idea. No way the cell and wifi networks at SDCC withstand the onslaught of Pokemon Go players and, when that happens, the Poke Stops are where the rioting starts.

If I had knowledge of what a rare Pokémon actually was, I'd tweet out its location being in the middle of the harbor just to thin out the crowds a little. ;)

I'll try to get some pictures with my phone, but no promises on the quality. And I'll try not to forget about commissions either. :)

All the artwork Profiles in History has is very impressive in person. Just wow!

The Kaluta paintings and Wrightson stuff especially!

Commentary doesn't count without photographic proof to back it up lol

This is the first year I stayed mainly in the Artists Alley. It surprises me how many artists don't bring a lot of OA to sell. But it was still cool chatting with some of them.

Scott Williams had some super nice Wildcats and Cyberforce pages. And Ron Lim is always a pleasure to talk and deal with. Picked up a few splashes from him.

I'm usually looking for late 80's / early 90's stuff, and didn't see a ton I was interested in at the dealers. A lot of 70's and earlier or modern.

But fun times.
