It would make sense based on Bills comments that several other books were canceled as well that it was a CC error, especially in light of the fact that Wednesday got moved to Monday. But why would they cancel some auctions but not all/restart all auctions.

I would assume it was something discussed with consignors/value etc

I read in one thread (don't ask me to find it) that the site froze. It might have been hacked.

thus the sellers didn't get the correct prices

In that case, it would make sense for CC to cance. the items effected (that's correct, right, it's not affected? my head is too stuffed up to tell the difference.:)

For you Sha :foryou:

I would assume that if they were canceling auctions for that reason they would just nuke the whole event, not selected sales. But these are just guesses. Would hope to hear something regarding this from them because as of now I will not be bidding or selling on CC.

Comic Connect cancelled the transactions on Bill's books not Ricky Bobby. What Ricky is doing is a "dink" move (What up Greggy?) but it was Metro's canceling and not his.

Anyway I figured that this would happen...

Remember the last time that Metropolis experienced site outages and delays? Wait until his auction is reopened by Metropolis and additional bidders are allowed to make a go at the book.

Just saying'

Why would anyone use CC again after this total disaster when there are alternatives for auctioning books?

for the same reason people went back to Clink after their fiasco

Comiclink went above and beyond when it came to addressing the problem.

As Greggy recounts:

He covered the difference between the ending price of the original outcome and the final outcome for both the actual winner and the original "winner"

I was the original "winner" of one of the books that got restarted and I got credit for the difference even though I didn't win it at the end and wasn't really out any money.

That was an awesome solution, though I hope in the case being discussed that RB doesn't get the difference in price. It would rewarding bad behavior.

Yes and no...

Was what he did wrong by offering it before it was in hand? I absolutely agree that it was wrong. However, even I have bought a few books on Comiclink or on eBay with the sole intent of flipping them at some point.

Oh, flipping doesn't bother me at all. I can't do it because I want to keep everything I buy or re-sell it for less money, so I would go broke in no time. More power to those that do it and make a living on it or obtain money to further their own collection. I just didn't like the fact he wasn't disclosing it and was kind of a person_who_is_obnoxiously_self-impressed about it in the thread and arrogant toward the original seller. Of course, that is only my perception of what I read and may not have been the intent at all.

:roflmao:

Sales thread from now on must include:

Where you bought the book

How much you paid

What line you used to get the book from the old lady

How many times it was pressed

how many times it was subbed to cgc

Maybe "My Heritage" can create a tree of a comics travel.
